I will send them against the ungodly nation of Judah. I will order them to fight against my own people. My people make me angry. I will order Assyria to take their goods and carry them away. I will order Assyria to walk on my people as if they were walking on mud.

Against a godless nation I send him, and against the people of my wrath I command him, to take spoil and seize plunder, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

因為主萬軍之耶和華定了一個日子，在「異象谷」必有騷亂、踐踏和驚擾——城牆被攻破，呼救聲達到山上。

因著萬軍之耶和華的盛怒，地被焚毀，百姓必像燒火的燃料，沒有人憐恤自己的兄弟。

他們必像勇士，在戰場上把敵人踐踏在街上的爛泥中；他們必爭戰，因為耶和華與他們同在；他們必使敵人的騎士蒙羞。

因為他們是悖逆的子民，欺詐的兒女，是不肯聽從耶和華訓誨的兒女。他們對先見說：「不要看異象了！」對先知說：「不要向我們預言真確的事，要向我們說柔滑的話，預言虛幻的事！你們要離開這道，轉離這路，不要在我們面前再提以色列的聖者了！」

耶和華緊拉著居魯士的右手，讓列國降服在他面前，使君王們的腰帶鬆開；又讓門在他面前敞開，使城門也不關閉——耶和華對所膏立的居魯士如此說：「我必在你前面行，修平崎嶇之地；我要打碎銅門，砍斷鐵閂。我要把暗處的寶物和隱祕處的寶藏賜給你，好讓你知道：是我耶和華以色列的神提你的名召喚了你。為我僕人雅各、我所揀選的以色列的緣故，我提你的名召喚你；你雖然不認識我，我卻給你一個尊名。我是耶和華，別無其二；除我以外沒有神。你雖然不認識我，我卻裝備你；

我從北方興起一人；他從日出之地而來，他必呼求我的名。他必把掌權者像泥土一樣踐踏，如同陶匠踹踏陶泥。

「我獨自踹酒槽，萬民中沒有一人與我在一起。我在怒氣中踹他們，在怒火中踩踏他們；他們的血水濺在我的衣服上，我把全身的衣服都染汙了；

因為亞述王說：「這是我以自己手的能力和自己的智慧所做的，因為我很聰明——我挪移了列國的地界，搶掠了他們的財寶，又像一個壯士使他們的居民臣服。我的手找到列國的財富，如同找到鳥巢；我收取全地，好像收取遺棄的鳥蛋；沒有一個扇翅膀的，沒有一個張嘴的，也沒有一個啼叫的。」

猶大地對埃及來說必成為恐懼——猶大地一被提起，任何人都會懼怕，因為這是萬軍之耶和華向埃及所策劃的謀略。

你們這些偽善的人哪！以賽亞指著你們所說的預言是對的，他說：

我搗碎他們，如同地上的塵土；我磨碎他們，踐踏他們，如同街上的爛泥。

我在怒氣中踐踏萬民，在怒火中使他們醉了，又把他們的血水倒在地上。」
