我得列國之貨財、若取諸巢、我畧全地、若拾遺卵、無有鼓翼、啟口鳴噪者也、○

我擊天下、得人貨財、如覆巢取卵、雌鳥遠飛、無有哀鳴而鼓翼者。

As one reaches into a nest, so my hand reached for the wealth of the nations; as people gather abandoned eggs, so I gathered all the countries; not one flapped a wing, or opened its mouth to chirp.’”

I’ve taken the wealth of the nations. It was as easy as reaching into a bird’s nest. I’ve gathered the riches of all these countries. It was as easy as gathering eggs that have been left in a nest. Not a single baby bird flapped its wings. Not one of them opened its mouth to chirp.’ ”

My hand has found like a nest the wealth of the peoples; and as one gathers eggs that have been forsaken, so I have gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved a wing or opened the mouth or chirped.”

I have robbed their nests of riches and gathered up kingdoms as a farmer gathers eggs. No one can even flap a wing against me or utter a peep of protest.”

因財富充裕、或家產豐足而歡喜；

即使你如鷹高飛，在星辰間築巢，我也必把你拉下來。這是耶和華說的。

你這棲身在石縫間、盤踞在高山上的民族啊，你令人驚懼、心高氣傲，其實只是自欺。儘管你像老鷹在高處搭窩，我也必把你拉下來。這是耶和華說的。

騙來的財如過眼雲霧，使人掉進死亡的陷阱。惡人的暴力必毀滅自己，因為他們行事不公不義。

那些不斷建房置田、佔光土地、獨居其中的人有禍了！

以法蓮是個不誠實的商人，手裡拿著騙人的秤，喜歡壓榨人。以法蓮說：「我發財了，我依靠自己致富。沒有人能從我的勞碌中找出過錯和罪惡。」

財富會欺騙人，使驕傲之人永不安分，像陰間一樣貪得無厭，如死亡一般永不滿足。因此，他們征服列國，擄掠萬民。「但那些被擄的人必用詩歌和俗語嘲諷他們，說，『你們有禍了！你們吞沒別人的財產，靠剝削別人囤積財富，要到何時呢？』向你們借債的人必突然攻擊你們，使你們戰戰兢兢，成為俘虜。你們從前擄掠許多國家，殺人流血，摧毀他們的土地、城市和人民，所以各國的餘民必掠奪你們。「為自己的家積蓄不義之財、在高處搭窩躲避災禍的人啊，你們有禍了！你們陰謀毀滅各族，以致自辱己家，自害己命。牆上的石頭必高聲指控你們，房子的梁木必同聲回應。

驕傲是敗亡的前奏，謙虛是尊榮的先鋒。

搶銀子吧！搶金子吧！城裡有無盡的財富和數不清的寶物。尼尼微被洗劫一空！被洗劫一空！一片荒涼！人們膽戰心驚，雙膝哆嗦，渾身發抖，面色蒼白。如今那獅子的洞穴，那餵養壯獅的地方在哪裡呢？從前，雄獅、母獅和幼獅曾在那裡出入，無人驚擾。雄獅為幼獅撕碎充足的食物，為母獅掐死獵物，洞穴裡堆滿獵物，堆滿撕碎的肉。萬軍之耶和華說：「我要與你為敵，燒毀你的戰車，使刀劍吞噬你的壯獅；我要使你無法再擄掠他國，你使者的聲音將從此消逝。」充滿血腥的尼尼微有禍了！城中充滿詭詐和暴力，害人的事從未止息。
