Every evil of theirs is in Gilgal; there I began to hate them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house. I will love them no more; all their princes are rebels.

“ Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, I hated them there. Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious.

The Lord says,“ My people did many evil things in Gilgal. That is why I hated them there. They committed many sins. So I will drive them out of my land. I will not love them anymore. All their leaders refuse to obey me.

The Lord says,“ All their wickedness began at Gilgal; there I began to hate them. I will drive them from my land because of their evil actions. I will love them no more because all their leaders are rebels.

All their evil appears at Gilgal, for there I began to hate them. I will drive them from my house because of their evil, wicked actions. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious.

All their evil is at Gilgal; Indeed, I came to hate them there! Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of My house! I will no longer love them; All their leaders are rebels.

If there is iniquity in Gilead, they shall surely come to nothing: in Gilgal they sacrifice bulls; their altars also are like stone heaps on the furrows of the field.

Though you play the whore, O Israel, let not Judah become guilty. Enter not into Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, and swear not,“ As the Lord lives.”

Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts. They do not bring justice to the fatherless, and the widow’s cause does not come to them.

but do not seek Bethel, and do not enter into Gilgal or cross over to Beersheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall come to nothing.”

And he went on a circuit year by year to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah. And he judged Israel in all these places.

O my people, remember what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him, and what happened from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of the Lord.”

The people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and they encamped at Gilgal on the east border of Jericho.And those twelve stones, which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up at Gilgal.And he said to the people of Israel,“ When your children ask their fathers in times to come,‘ What do these stones mean?’then you shall let your children know,‘ Israel passed over this Jordan on dry ground.’For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up for us until we passed over,so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”

She saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, I had sent her away with a decree of divorce. Yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but she too went and played the whore.

Hear this, O priests! Pay attention, O house of Israel! Give ear, O house of the king! For the judgment is for you; for you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread upon Tabor.And the revolters have gone deep into slaughter, but I will discipline all of them.

Her officials within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves that leave nothing till the morning.

On the next day their rulers and elders and scribes gathered together in Jerusalem,with Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family.And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired,“ By what power or by what name did you do this?”

I will go to the great and will speak to them, for they know the way of the Lord, the justice of their God.” But they all alike had broken the yoke; they had burst the bonds.

for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

and I will send you into exile beyond Damascus,” says the Lord, whose name is the God of hosts.

And it shall be like people, like priest; I will punish them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.

And I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars and cast your dead bodies upon the dead bodies of your idols, and my soul will abhor you.

“ Come to Bethel, and transgress; to Gilgal, and multiply transgression; bring your sacrifices every morning, your tithes every three days;

In one month I destroyed the three shepherds. But I became impatient with them, and they also detested me.

He forsook his dwelling at Shiloh, the tent where he dwelt among mankind,

What right has my beloved in my house, when she has done many vile deeds? Can even sacrificial flesh avert your doom? Can you then exult?

But they do not consider that I remember all their evil. Now their deeds surround them; they are before my face.

My God will reject them because they have not listened to him; they shall be wanderers among the nations.

And they burned their sons and their daughters as offerings and used divination and omens and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight. None was left but the tribe of Judah only.Judah also did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God, but walked in the customs that Israel had introduced.And the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them and gave them into the hand of plunderers, until he had cast them out of his sight.

They shall not remain in the land of the Lord, but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean food in Assyria.

And the Lord said,“ Call his name Not My People, for you are not my people, and I am not your God.”

Then Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal.

Its heads give judgment for a bribe; its priests teach for a price; its prophets practice divination for money; yet they lean on the Lord and say,“ Is not the Lord in the midst of us? No disaster shall come upon us.”

then I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, and the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples.And this house will become a heap of ruins. Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say,‘ Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’Then they will say,‘ Because they abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’”

Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, shedding blood, destroying lives to get dishonest gain.

“ Have you not observed that these people are saying,‘ The Lord has rejected the two clans that he chose’? Thus they have despised my people so that they are no longer a nation in their sight.Thus says the Lord: If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed order of heaven and earth,then I will reject the offspring of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his offspring to rule over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.”

At that time the Lord said to Joshua,“ Make flint knives and circumcise the sons of Israel a second time.”So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the sons of Israel at Gibeath-haaraloth.And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: all the males of the people who came out of Egypt, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way after they had come out of Egypt.Though all the people who came out had been circumcised, yet all the people who were born on the way in the wilderness after they had come out of Egypt had not been circumcised.For the people of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, the men of war who came out of Egypt, perished, because they did not obey the voice of the Lord; the Lord swore to them that he would not let them see the land that the Lord had sworn to their fathers to give to us, a land flowing with milk and honey.So it was their children, whom he raised up in their place, that Joshua circumcised. For they were uncircumcised, because they had not been circumcised on the way.When the circumcising of the whole nation was finished, they remained in their places in the camp until they were healed.And the Lord said to Joshua,“ Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” And so the name of that place is called Gilgal to this day.

When she carried on her whoring so openly and flaunted her nakedness, I turned in disgust from her, as I had turned in disgust from her sister.

She conceived again and bore a daughter. And the Lord said to him,“ Call her name No Mercy, for I will no more have mercy on the house of Israel, to forgive them at all.

For the children of Israel shall dwell many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or pillar, without ephod or household gods.

And when they heard this, they entered the temple at daybreak and began to teach. Now when the high priest came, and those who were with him, they called together the council, all the senate of the people of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
