They do not cry out to me from their hearts but wail on their beds. They slash themselves, appealing to their gods for grain and new wine, but they turn away from me.

「人因多受欺壓就哀求，因強權者的膀臂而求救。但無人說：『造我的神在哪裏？他使人夜間歌唱，

你們求也得不着，是因為你們妄求，為了要浪費在你們的宴樂中。

雖有這一切的事，她奸詐的妹妹猶大還不一心歸向我，不過是假意歸我。這是耶和華說的。」

「你要向這地全體百姓和祭司說：『你們這七十年來，在五月、七月禁食悲哀，豈是真的向我禁食嗎？

他們在各祭壇旁邊，躺臥在人所典當的衣服上，又在他們神的殿裏喝受罰之人的酒。

他殺他們的時候，他們才求問他，回心轉意，切切尋求神。他們追念神是他們的磐石，至高的神是他們的救贖主。他們卻用口諂媚他，用舌向他說謊。他們的心向他不堅定，不忠於他的約。

看哪，我的僕人因心中喜樂而歡呼，你們卻因心裏悲痛而哀哭，因靈裏憂傷而哀號。

主說：「因這百姓以口親近我，用嘴唇尊敬我，心卻遠離我；他們敬畏我，不過是領受前人的命令。

若有人心存虛假，用謊言說：「我向你們傳講可得清酒和烈酒」，那人就必作這百姓的傳講者。

他們出到田間，摘下葡萄，踹酒，作樂。他們進入他們神明的廟中吃喝，詛咒亞比米勒。

他們的結局就是滅亡。他們的神明是自己的肚腹；他們以自己的羞辱為光榮，專以地上的事為念。

那日，宮殿裏的詩歌要變為哀號；必有許多屍首拋在各處，安靜無聲。」這是主耶和華說的。

耶和華又對我說：「你去愛那情人所愛卻犯姦淫的婦人，正如耶和華愛那偏向別神、喜愛葡萄餅的以色列人。」

我的百姓既是白白地被擄，如今我在這裏做甚麼呢？這是耶和華說的。轄制他們的人歡呼，我的名終日不斷受褻瀆，這是耶和華說的。

注意！你們這些富足人哪，要為將要臨到你們身上的災難哭泣、號咷。

次日清早，百姓起來獻燔祭和平安祭，就坐下吃喝，起來玩樂。

因為這樣的人不服侍我們的主基督，只服侍自己的肚腹，用花言巧語誘惑老實人的心。

撒瑪利亞要擔當罪孽，因為背叛自己的神。他們必倒在刀下，嬰孩必被摔碎，孕婦必被剖開。
