“以法莲见自己患病，犹大见自己有伤，以法莲便向强大的亚述王求救。亚述王却不能医病，也无法裹伤。

“以法莲见自己有病，犹大见自己有伤，他们就打发人往亚述去见耶雷布王，他却不能医治你们，不能治好你们的伤。

以法莲见自己有病，犹大见自己有伤，以法莲就前往亚述，差遣人去见大王；他却不能医治你们，不能治好你们的伤。

以法蓮自知有疾、猶大見己受傷、則以法蓮往亞述、遣人見耶雷布王耶雷布王或作敵國之王求救、而不能醫爾、不能療爾之傷、

“ When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his sores, then Ephraim turned to Assyria, and sent to the great king for help. But he is not able to cure you, not able to heal your sores.

“ The people of Ephraim saw how sick they were. The people of Judah saw that they were wounded. Then Ephraim turned to Assyria for help. They sent gifts to the great King Tiglath- Pileser. But he is not able to make you well. He can’t heal your wounds.

以法莲像鸽子一样愚蠢无知，他们向埃及求救，又投奔亚述。

它要被带到亚述去，作为贡物献给强大的亚述王。以法莲因此而受人嘲笑，以色列因自己的偶像而蒙羞。

“以法莲以风为食，整天追逐东风，虚谎和暴力日益增多；他跟亚述结盟，向埃及进贡橄榄油。”

他们投奔亚述，就像孤独漂泊的野驴。以法莲收买情人。

亚述王普勒犯境，米拿现献给他三十七吨银子，以获得他的支持并巩固自己的王权。

耶和华说：“你们的创伤无法医治，你们的伤口无法痊愈。

你们的盟友都忘了你们，对你们漠不关心。我要像你们的仇敌一样击打你们，残酷地惩罚你们，因为你们罪大恶极，罪过无数。你们为何因自己无法医治的创伤而哭泣呢？因为你们罪大恶极，罪过无数，我才这样惩罚你们。

我们不再向亚述求救，不再依靠战马，也不再称自己所造的神像为我们的上帝。耶和华啊，只有在你那里，孤儿才能得到怜悯。”

因为撒玛利亚的创伤无法救治，已经祸及犹大，直逼我百姓的城门，直逼耶路撒冷。

那时，亚哈斯王派人到亚述王那里求援。原来以东人又来攻打犹大，掳掠民众。非利士人也入侵丘陵和犹大南方的城镇，攻占了伯·示麦、亚雅仑、基低罗，以及梭哥、亭拿、瑾锁和三城周围的村庄，并住在那里。

亚述王提革拉·毗列色来到犹大后，不但不救他，反而压迫他。亚哈斯从耶和华的殿里、王宫和官员家中取财宝送给亚述王，但无济于事。

以色列王比加执政期间，亚述王提革拉·毗列色来犯，夺取了以云、亚伯·伯·玛迦、亚挪、基低斯和夏琐，占领了基列、加利利及拿弗他利全境，把那里的居民掳往亚述。

亚哈斯差遣使者去见亚述王提革拉·毗列色，对他说：“我是你的仆人、你的儿子，现在亚兰王和以色列王攻打我，求你从他们手中拯救我。”
