Judah’s leaders are like those who move boundary stones. I will pour out my wrath on them like a flood of water.

Judah’s leaders have stolen some land. They have moved their borders farther north. So I will pour out my anger on them like a flood of water.

The princes of Judah have become like those who move the landmark; upon them I will pour out my wrath like water.

因此，趁著還能尋求你的時候，凡敬虔的人都當向你禱告；洪水氾濫時，就沒有機會了。

爭端爆發如洪水決堤，當在爆發前將其制止。

那時，亞哈斯王派人到亞述王那裡求援。原來以東人又來攻打猶大，擄掠民眾。非利士人也入侵丘陵和猶大南方的城鎮，攻佔了伯·示麥、亞雅崙、基低羅，以及梭哥、亭拿、瑾鎖和三城周圍的村莊，並住在那裡。耶和華使猶大衰微，因為以色列王亞哈斯在猶大肆無忌憚，悖逆耶和華。亞述王提革拉·毗列色來到猶大後，不但不救他，反而壓迫他。亞哈斯從耶和華的殿裡、王宮和官員家中取財寶送給亞述王，但無濟於事。亞哈斯在患難時越發悖逆耶和華，

我快要向你傾倒我的烈怒，發出我的怒氣。我必按你的行為審判你，照你一切的惡行報應你。

遇到風吹雨打、洪水沖擊，房子就倒塌了，而且倒塌得很厲害。」

這些災難如洪濤整天環繞我，徹底圍住我。

亞哈斯差遣使者去見亞述王提革拉·毗列色，對他說：「我是你的僕人、你的兒子，現在亞蘭王和以色列王攻打我，求你從他們手中拯救我。」亞哈斯把耶和華殿裡和王宮庫房裡的金銀送給亞述王。亞述王答應了他，起兵攻陷大馬士革，殺了利汛，把城中的居民擄到吉珥。

但聽了我的話卻不遵行的人，好比一個人沒有打根基，便將房子蓋在地面上，洪水一沖，房子立刻倒塌，完全毀壞了。」
