雖食不得飽、與婦交、不增人、因違棄主、不守法度、

你吃，卻吃不飽，仍然腹中空空。你聚斂錢財，卻保不住。你保住的，我要交給拿刀的。

我要斷絕你們的糧源。那時候，十個婦女將用一個烤爐烤餅，按定量分餅給你們，你們吃卻吃不飽。

你們種多收少，吃不飽，喝不足，穿不暖，掙來的工錢卻放在漏口袋中。」

以法蓮人的榮耀要如鳥飛逝，你們將不能受孕，不能懷胎，也不能生育。你們縱然把孩子養大，我也要奪去他們的性命，一個也不留。我撇棄你們的時候，你們就有禍了！我看見以法蓮栽種在草原上，美如泰爾，但以法蓮卻要把孩子交給屠殺者。」耶和華啊，求你給他們——你要給他們什麼呢？求你使他們子宮流產，乳房乾癟。耶和華說：「因他們在吉甲的一切惡行，我已憎惡他們。因他們的惡行，我要將他們逐出我的家，不再愛他們，他們的首領都是悖逆之人。以法蓮要被擊打，他們的根將枯乾，再也不能結果。就算他們能生兒育女，我也要殺死他們心愛的孩子。」我的上帝必棄絕他們，因為他們不聽從祂。他們必在列國中流離飄泊。

耶何耶大死後，猶大眾首領來朝拜王，王對他們言聽計從。

義人豐衣足食，惡人食不果腹。

他們滿口惡言謊話，毫無智慧和善行。

但我不會因此而懲罰她們，因為你們也與娼妓苟合，與廟妓一起獻祭。無知的民族必走向滅亡。

義人若棄善行惡，與惡人同流合污，這人豈能活著？他從前的義行不會被記念，他必因自己的背信和罪惡而滅亡。

耶和華必把那些偏行惡道的人與作惡的人一同趕走。願平安臨到以色列。

所以主耶和華說：「看啊，我的僕人必有吃有喝，你們卻要饑渴交加；我的僕人必歡喜，你們卻要受羞辱；我的僕人必歡喜快樂，揚聲歌唱，你們卻要傷心欲絕，嚎啕大哭。我的選民必用你們的名字作咒詛，主耶和華必殺死你們，給祂的僕人另起名字。因此，在地上求福祉的人都必向信實的上帝祈求，在地上起誓的人都必憑信實的上帝起誓。因為過去的苦難已經被遺忘，從我眼前消失了。

不久前，你們回心轉意，做我視為正的事，釋放自己的同胞，並且在我的殿中立了約。

祭司們啊，這誡命是傳給你們的。萬軍之耶和華說：「如果你們不聽從我的話，也不從內心尊崇我的名，我必使咒詛臨到你們，把你們的福氣變成咒詛。事實上，因為你們不把我的誡命放在心上，我已經咒詛了你們。我必斥責你們的子孫，把你們祭牲的糞便抹在你們臉上，又把你們和糞便一同丟掉，

剷除離棄我、不尋求我、不求問我的人。」

如果他們藉著認識我們的主和救主耶穌基督，已經擺脫了世俗的污穢，但後來又被這些事纏住、俘虜了，他們的處境會比以前更糟糕。他們明知道正路，卻背棄了傳給他們的神聖誡命，這樣倒不如不知道的好。俗語說得好：「狗轉過身來，吃自己所吐的；豬洗乾淨了，又回到污泥裡去打滾。」這些話正好用在他們身上。
