如今這葡萄樹移植於曠野，在乾旱無水之地，

你若心裏說：「這一切的事為何臨到我呢？」是因你罪孽甚多。你的下襬揭起，你的腳跟受傷。

「看哪，日子將到，我必命饑荒降在地上；人飢餓非因無餅，乾渴非因無水，而是因不聽耶和華的話。」這是主耶和華說的。他們必飄流，從這海到那海，從北邊到東邊，往來奔跑，尋求耶和華的話，卻尋不着。「當那日，少年和美貌的少女必因乾渴而發昏。

它的城鎮變廢墟，地變乾旱，成為沙漠，成為無人居住、無人經過之地。

大地悲哀衰殘，黎巴嫩羞愧且枯乾，沙崙好像曠野，巴珊和迦密必凋殘。

這世代的人哪，你們要留意耶和華的話。我向以色列豈是曠野，或幽暗之地呢？我的百姓為何說：『我們脫離約束，不再歸向你了』？

參孫非常口渴，就求告耶和華說：「你既藉僕人的手施行這麼大的拯救，現在我要渴死，落在未受割禮的人手中嗎？」

論到你出世的景況，在你出生的日子沒有人為你斷臍帶，也沒有用水清洗，使你潔淨；沒有人撒鹽在你身上，也沒有人用布包你。沒有人顧惜你，為你做一件這樣的事來可憐你。你卻被扔在田野上面，因你出生的日子就被厭惡。「我從你旁邊經過，見你在血中打滾，就對你說：『你雖在血中，卻要活下去！』我又說：『你雖在血中，卻要活下去！』我使你成長如田間所生長的；你就漸長，美而又美，兩乳成形，頭髮秀長，但你仍然赤身露體。「我從你旁邊經過看見你，看哪，正是你渴慕愛情的時候，我就用我衣服的邊搭在你身上，遮蓋你的赤體；又向你起誓，與你立約，你就歸我。這是主耶和華說的。

我要揭起你的下襬，蒙在你臉上，顯露你的羞恥。

我觀看，看哪，肥田變為荒地；所有城鎮在耶和華面前，因他的烈怒都被拆毀。

你所看見的那十個角與獸必恨這淫婦，他們要使她孤獨赤身，又要吃她的肉，用火將她燒盡。

耶和華論到猶大王的家如此說：「我看你如基列，如黎巴嫩的山頂；然而，我必使你變為曠野，成為無人居住的城鎮。

百姓在那裏口渴要喝水，就向摩西發怨言，說：「你為甚麼把我們從埃及領出來，使我們和我們的兒女，以及牲畜都渴死呢？」

許多牧人毀壞我的葡萄園，踐踏我的地產，使我美好的地產變為荒涼的曠野。

他們並不問：『那領我們從埃及地上來，引導我們走過曠野、沙漠有坑洞之地，走過乾旱死蔭、無人經過、無人居住之地的耶和華在哪裏呢？』
