Now they continue to sin by making silver idols, images shaped skillfully with human hands.“ Sacrifice to these,” they cry,“ and kiss the calf idols!”

Even now they persist in sin! They make metal images for themselves, idols that they skillfully fashion from their own silver; all of them are nothing but the work of craftsmen! There is a saying about them:“ Those who sacrifice to the calf idol are calf kissers!”

那從錢袋中浪費金子，用天秤平銀子的人雇銀匠造神像，自己竟去叩拜，去拜敬！

但我在以色列中已為自己保存了七千個餘民、是未曾向巴力屈膝過，未曾和巴力親嘴過的。』

人用金銀妝飾它，用釘子和錘子釘穩它，使它不動搖。

其剩下的他竟作了一座神像，就是雕像，而向它叩拜，向它敬拜，禱告說：『援救我吧，因為你是我的神！』他們不知道，也不明白，因為他們的眼被塗抹了，以致不能看見，他們的心蒙蔽了，以致不能了解。沒有一個人心裏回悟過來，也沒有一個有知識有聰明能夠說：「木頭的一半我已經燒在火中，我也曾在其炭火上烤過餅，烤過肉喫；難道其剩下的我還要作一座可厭惡之像！我還要向樹木頭叩拜！」嘿，以爐灰為食的人！被愚弄的心使他偏行了；他不能援救自己，也不能說：『莫非我右手中有虛假？』

她不知道是我給了她五穀、新酒和新油，又增加了金銀給她，她卻用去製造巴力。

雕刻的偶像、塑造它的將它刻成、有甚麼益處？鑄造的偶像、虛假的導師、塑造它的將它塑成、造座啞巴神像去倚靠它、有甚麼益處？那對木偶說「醒起！」、對啞巴石像說「奮起！」的有禍啊！嘿，這能做導師！看哪，這只是包裹金銀的，其中毫無氣息！

但上帝的回諭對他說甚麼呢？『我為自己留下了七千人、是沒有向巴力屈過膝的。』

他們自稱為有智慧，反而成了愚拙，用那能敗壞的人類、飛鳥、走獸、昆蟲之像的樣式、去代換那不能朽壞的上帝之榮耀。所以在他們心裏的私慾中、上帝就把他們放給污穢、去彼此侮辱自己的身體。這種人用了假去替換上帝之真，敬拜事奉了被創造之物，而不敬奉創造之主：就是應當受祝頌、萬世無窮的。阿們。

刀劍必在他們的城中飛舞，毁壞他們的門閂，在他們的營寨裏吞滅他們。

撒母耳拿了一瓶膏油澆在掃羅頭上，和他親嘴，說：「這不是永恆主膏立你做管理他民的人君麼？你必管束永恆主的人民；必拯救他們脫離四圍仇敵的手。永恆主膏立了你做管理他產業的人君；這要給你做記號。

而惡人和騙子總會進到更壞，迷惑人也受人迷惑。

要純誠誠親嘴拜服，恐怕他發怒，你們就在路中滅亡；因為他的怒氣很快就要發作。凡避難於他裏面的都有福啊。

拜偶像的人一概是畜類、是愚頑，是虛無神所指教的：那神不過是木頭，

永恆主發神諭說：『有禍啊，這些悖逆的兒女！設下計謀，卻不由於我！奠酒結盟，卻不由於我的靈，以致罪上加罪！

那牛犢像是匠人造的，並不是神。撒瑪利亞的牛犢像必定成了碎片。

『你們要懷念這事，而堅定不移，悖逆的人哪，心裏回想吧！

以色列是茂盛的葡萄樹、能結果子的；他的果子越多，他的祭壇就越增多；他的地土越肥美，他就越使崇拜柱子美麗。

有耳卻不能側耳以聽；它們口中也沒有氣息。造它們的、正和它們一樣；凡倚靠它們的、正如它們一般。

如今你看，你們倒起來接替你們的先祖，成了罪人的族類，使永恆主向以色列更加發烈怒！

你們為甚麼悖逆了又悖逆，要繼續受責打呢？嘿，滿頭創痍，滿心全發暈。

他沒有在永恆主面前自己謙卑，像他父親瑪拿西自己謙卑；這亞們所犯的罪過反而越來越多。

然而你竟依順你的剛愎和不悔改的心、為自己積聚着上帝的義怒、於上帝義怒的日子，就是上帝公義的刑罰顯示出來的日子；

『列國逃脫的人哪，集合攏來，一同走近前哦！那些抬着木頭雕像的、直禱告那不能救人之神的、毫無知識。

外國人的偶像是銀的或金的，是人的手所作的。他們有口、卻不能說話；有眼、卻不能看；有耳、卻不能聽；有鼻、卻不能聞；有手、卻不能摸；有腳、卻不能走路；也不能用喉嚨出聲。造它們的、正和它們一樣；凡倚靠它們的、正如它們一般。

對他們說：『你們不要將俘虜帶進這裏來，因為我們已得罪了永恆主了，你們心裏還說要增加我們的罪和過犯。我們的罪過實在夠大了；已經有永恆主的烈怒臨到以色列人了。』

他們立了王，但不是由我立的；他們立了首領，卻不是我承認的。他們用他們的銀子或金子、為自己造了偶像，好讓自己被剪除。
