And now they sin more and more, and make for themselves metal images, idols skillfully made of their silver, all of them the work of craftsmen. It is said of them,“ Those who offer human sacrifice kiss calves!”

Now they continue to sin by making silver idols, images shaped skillfully with human hands.“ Sacrifice to these,” they cry,“ and kiss the calf idols!”

Now they continue to sin and make themselves a cast image, idols skillfully made from their silver, all of them the work of craftsmen. People say about them,“ Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves.”

Now they continue to sin and make themselves a cast image, idols skillfully made from their silver, all of them the work of craftsmen. People say about them,“ Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves.”

And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver,[ and] idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.

Even now they persist in sin! They make metal images for themselves, idols that they skillfully fashion from their own silver; all of them are nothing but the work of craftsmen! There is a saying about them:“ Those who sacrifice to the calf idol are calf kissers!”

Now they sin more and more, and have made themselves molten images of their silver, even idols according to their own understanding, all of them the work of the craftsmen. They say of them,‘ They offer human sacrifice and kiss the calves.’

那些從錢袋倒出金子，用天平稱銀子的人，雇用金匠製造神像；他們向神像又俯伏又叩拜。

但我在以色列人中留下七千人，他們全是未曾向巴力屈過膝的，也未曾與巴力親過嘴的。”

他們用金銀把它修飾，用釘子和鎚子把它釘牢，使它不動搖。

他用剩下來的一半做了一個神像，就是他雕刻的偶像，他向它俯伏，向它敬拜，又向它禱告，說：“求你救我，因為你是我的神。”他們並不知道，也不明白；因為耶和華閉住他們的眼睛，使他們不能看見，塞住他們的心，使他們不能明白。沒有人細心思想，也沒有人有知識有聰明說：“我把木頭的一半放在火裡燃燒，我也在炭火上烘過餅，烤過肉吃，剩下的，我卻用來做了一個可憎之物，我要向木頭叩拜嗎？”他所追求的只是灰塵，被迷惑了的心使他偏離正道了；他不能救自己，也不會說：“在我的右手中不是有個假神嗎？”

其實她不知道，是我把五穀、新酒、橄欖油賜給了她；甚至他們用來製造巴力的金銀，也是我大量給她的；

雕刻的像有甚麼用處呢？不過是匠人雕刻出來的；鑄造的像、虛假的教師，有甚麼用處呢？匠人竟倚靠自己所做，那不能說話的假神。你這對木頭說“起來”，對啞石說“醒吧”的人，有禍了！它怎能教導你呢？看哪！它包金鑲銀，裡面卻全無氣息。

但神怎樣回答他呢？“我為自己留下了七千人，是沒有向巴力屈膝的。”

他們自以為是聰明的，卻成了愚蠢的。他們用必朽壞的人、飛禽、走獸和昆蟲的形象，取代了永不朽壞的神的榮耀。因此，神就任憑他們順著心中的私慾去作污穢的事，以致羞辱自己的身體。他們用虛謊取代了神的真理，敬拜事奉受造之物，卻不敬拜事奉造物的主。他是永遠可稱頌的，阿們。

刀劍必在他們的城中飛舞，毀壞他們的門閂，因著他們自己的計謀，吞滅他們。

撒母耳拿了一瓶膏油，倒在掃羅的頭上，又與他親吻，說：“耶和華不是已經膏立你作他產業的領袖嗎？

但惡人和騙子必越來越壞，他們欺騙人，也必受欺騙。

你們要用嘴親吻子，否則他一發怒，你們就在路上滅亡，因為他的怒氣快要發作。凡是投靠他的，都是有福的。

他們全是頑梗愚昧，他們所領受的教導是來自那些虛無、木做的偶像。

耶和華說：“這些悖逆的兒女有禍了！他們實行計謀，卻不是出於我的意思，他們結盟，卻不是出於我的靈，以致罪上加罪。

這牛犢是出於以色列，是匠人所做的，它並不是神，撒瑪利亞的牛犢必被粉碎。

“你們當記念這事，要堅定不移；悖逆的人哪！你們要留心思想。

以色列最茂盛的葡萄樹，自己能結果子。他的果子越多，他就越增添祭壇；他的土地越肥美，他就使柱像越美麗。

有耳卻不能聽，口中也沒有氣息。做偶像的必和它們一樣，所有倚靠它們的也必這樣。

現在，你們這些罪人的族類，也來接替你們的先祖，增添耶和華對以色列的烈怒！

你們為甚麼屢次悖逆，還要受責打嗎？你們整個頭都受了傷，整個心都發昏了。

他沒有在耶和華面前謙卑，像他父親瑪拿西謙卑一樣；這亞們所犯的罪過越來越多。

可是你一直硬著心腸，不肯悔改，為自己積蓄神的忿怒，就是他彰顯公義審判的那天所要發的忿怒。

“列國逃脫的人哪！你們要來集合，一同近前來。那些抬著木頭做的偶像，向不能拯救人的神祈求的，真是無知。

列國的偶像是金的、銀的，是人手所做的。它們有口，卻不能說話；有眼，卻不能看；有耳，卻不能聽；有鼻，卻不能聞；有手，卻不能摸；有腳，卻不能行；也不能用喉嚨發聲。做偶像的必和偶像一樣；凡是倚靠它們的，都必這樣。

對他們說：“你們不可把這些俘虜帶進來，因為我們已經得罪了耶和華，你們想增加我們的罪惡和過犯，我們的過犯實在嚴重，耶和華的震怒臨到以色列人身上了。”

“他們立了君王，卻不是出於我；他們立了首領，我卻不知道。他們用自己的金銀為自己做了偶像，以致他們被剪除。
