亚述王撒缦以色上来攻击何细亚，何细亚就服侍他，给他进贡。何细亚背叛，差人去见埃及王梭，不照往年所行的与亚述王进贡。亚述王知道了，就把他锁禁，囚在监里。

“他们却如亚当背约，在境内向我行事诡诈。

无亲情，不解怨，好说谗言，不能自约，性情凶暴，不爱良善，

无知的、背约的、无亲情的、不怜悯人的。

惟恐你们中间，或男或女，或族长或支派长，今日心里偏离耶和华我们的神，去侍奉那些国的神；又怕你们中间有恶根生出苦菜和茵陈来，

就是悖逆、不认识耶和华，转去不跟从我们的神，说欺压和叛逆的话，心怀谎言，随即说出。并且公平转而退后，公义站在远处；诚实在街上仆倒，正直也不得进入。诚实少见；离恶的人反成掠物。那时，耶和华看见没有公平，甚不喜悦。

第三位天使吹号，就有烧着的大星，好像火把从天上落下来，落在江河的三分之一和众水的泉源上。这星名叫“茵陈”。众水的三分之一变为茵陈，因水变苦，就死了许多人。

万军之耶和华的葡萄园就是以色列家；他所喜爱的树就是犹大人。他指望的是公平，谁知倒有暴虐；指望的是公义，谁知倒有冤声。

我看出你正在苦胆之中，被罪恶捆绑。”
