可是，你們種的是邪惡，收的是不義，吃的是謊言的果實。因為你們倚靠自己的力量，仰仗眾多的勇士。

爾昔所耕者罪惡、今所穫者過失、爾素詐詭、自伐其能、恃其壯士、今取其戾、

惟爾曹耕惡穫尤、食享虛果、爾曹竟賴己之作為、倚恃壯士眾多、

But you have planted wickedness, you have reaped evil, you have eaten the fruit of deception. Because you have depended on your own strength and on your many warriors,

But you have planted the seeds of doing what is wrong. So you have harvested the fruit of your evil conduct. You have had to eat the fruit of your lies. You have trusted in your own strength. You have depended on your many soldiers.

You have plowed iniquity; you have reaped injustice; you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your own way and in the multitude of your warriors,

“ But you have cultivated wickedness and harvested a thriving crop of sins. You have eaten the fruit of lies— trusting in your military might, believing that great armies could make your nation safe.

不要自欺，上帝是輕慢不得的。人種什麼收什麼。順從罪惡的本性撒種的，必從罪惡的本性收取敗壞的惡果；順從聖靈撒種的，必從聖靈收取永生。

據我所見，播惡收惡，種禍得禍。

君王不能靠兵多取勝，勇士不能憑力大獲救。

播種不義的必收災禍，他的惡勢力終必瓦解。

他們種的是風，收的是暴風。他們的莊稼長不出穗子，結不出籽粒，就是有收成，也要被外族人吃掉。

所以，你們必自食其果，因自己的惡謀而吃盡苦頭。

人因口中所說的話而飽足，因嘴中所出的言語而滿足。口舌能夠定生死，多嘴多言食惡果。

「看啊，這就是不依靠上帝的人，他只倚仗自己的財富和以殘暴手段獲得的權勢。」

我又發現，日光之下，跑得快的未必能得獎，強大的未必能得勝，智者未必得溫飽，聰明人未必有財富，博學者未必受愛戴，因為時機和境遇左右眾人。

誠實的口永遠長存，撒謊的舌轉瞬即逝。

不要敲詐勒索，不要妄想靠偷盜發財，即使財富增多，也不要倚靠它。

他們以罪惡取悅君王，以謊言討好首領。

耶和華說：「以法蓮用謊話包圍我，以色列家用詭詐環繞我；猶大依然背離聖潔、信實的上帝。

作偽證者難免受罰，撒謊的人罪責難逃。
