你們為自己造的神明在哪裡呢？危難時讓他們救你們吧！「猶大人啊，你們神明的數目與你們的城邑一樣多！

「你們不可為自己製造偶像，不可豎立神像和神柱，也不可在你們境內安放祭拜用的石像。我是你們的上帝耶和華。

耶和華對我說：「人子啊，葡萄木比林中其他木材更好嗎？葡萄木有什麼用呢？能用它製造掛鉤掛東西嗎？它只能用來當柴燒。如果火已經燒了它的兩頭，中間也燒黑了，它還有什麼用呢？它完好無損的時候，尚且不能用來製造工具，被火燒後豈不更沒用了嗎？

他們在各高崗上、樹蔭下為自己建造邱壇，豎立神柱和亞舍拉神像，

他們擁立君王，未經我的同意；選立首領，沒有讓我知道。他們用金銀為自己製造神像，自取滅亡。

從今以後，我們不再以貌取人了，雖然我們曾這樣看待基督，現在卻不再這樣看待祂了。

別人都只顧自己的事，並不關心耶穌基督的事。

但你們吃得飽足以後，就心高氣傲，忘記了我。

她不知道是我給她五穀、新酒和油，又賜給她大量金銀——她卻用這些供奉巴力。

以法蓮說：「我發財了，我依靠自己致富。沒有人能從我的勞碌中找出過錯和罪惡。」

雖然擄掠者曾擄掠雅各，擄掠以色列，毀壞他們的葡萄樹枝，但耶和華必恢復雅各的榮耀，恢復以色列的榮耀。

因為我們沒有人為自己活，也沒有人為自己死。我們活是為主而活，死是為主而死。因此，我們無論生死都是屬主的人。
