如是、則耶穌為愈善之約之中保矣、

使我克供新約之役、非恃文、乃恃靈、蓋文致死、靈致生也、夫致死之役、文鐫諸石、尚以榮而成、因摩西之榮、以色列人不能注視其面、此榮乃暫耳、況恃靈之役、其榮不更甚哉、若致罪之役既榮、則致義之役益榮矣、昔為榮者不足榮、因有超越之榮故耳、蓋暫存者若榮、則永存者更榮矣、○

且有新約中保耶穌、與所灑之血、此血所言、較亞伯為尤善、

餐後、取杯亦然、曰、此杯乃新約、以我血為爾流者也、

夫所許者、乃指亞伯拉罕及其裔而言、不曰諸裔、如指多人、惟指一人、且曰爾裔、即基督也、我謂上帝預立之約、非四百三十年後之律所能廢、使所許者為虛、若嗣業由律、則不復由許、但上帝曾以許賜之亞伯拉罕矣、然則律何為耶、乃為罪而設、待受許之裔至、又由天使於中保之手而訂、夫中保非一人之中保、惟上帝乃一也、然則律與上帝之許相反乎、非也、若賜以能致生之律、則義誠由律矣、

倘前約無缺、則無庸立後約矣、惟視其有缺、則曰、主云、日將至矣、我與以色列家、及猶大家必立新約、非依我與其先祖所立之約、即在援其手導之出埃及時者、主云、彼不恆守我約、故我弗眷顧之、又云、斯日之後我與以色列家所立之約、乃以我律置其衷銘其心、我於彼為上帝、彼於我為民、勿須各訓其鄰里及其兄弟云、宜識主、蓋自卑至尊、皆必識我、以我將寬恕其不義、不復記其罪愆、約既曰新、則以前者為舊、夫舊而漸衰者、殆近於消滅矣、

希望無誑之上帝、在永世前所許之永生、

彼固以色列人、得為上帝子、有榮耀、諸約、律例、禮儀、應許、

且由是錫以寶貴豐厚之許、俾爾得脫在世因慾之敗壞、克與夫上帝之性、

是以彼為新約之中保、以死而贖前約下之罪愆、俾蒙召者得永業之許、凡有遺命、必待命之者死、既死則遺命堅矣、命之者尚在、遺命有庸乎、故前約之立、非不以血也、蓋摩西既依律言諸誡於民、則取犢與羊之血、並水、與絳綿、牛膝草、灑其書以及諸民、曰、此乃上帝所命爾約之血、
