但麥基洗德不屬利未譜系、乃取什一於亞伯拉罕而祝其蒙許者、

惟麥基洗德、非由利未出、而於亞伯拉罕所有者、什一取之、且亞伯拉罕素蒙上帝許、而麥基洗德為之祝嘏、

麥基洗德雖不屬利未之族、猶於亞伯拉罕之物、什取其一、且為蒙應許者祝福、

惟不與若輩同族之麥基德、乃受貢於亞伯漢、且為彼承有恩諾之身祝嘏焉。

Melchizedek did not trace his family line from Levi. But he collected a tenth from Abraham. Melchizedek blessed the one who had received the promises.

But this man who does not have his descent from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.

But Melchizedek, who was not a descendant of Levi, collected a tenth from Abraham. And Melchizedek placed a blessing upon Abraham, the one who had already received the promises of God.

But one without this lineage collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed the one who had the promises.

But the one whose genealogy is not traced from them collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed the one who had the promises.

but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.

but he whose genealogy is not counted from them hath taken tithes of Abraham, and hath blessed him that hath the promises.

But one without this lineage collected tenths from Abraham and blessed the one who had the promises.

But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

But Melchizedek who does not share their ancestry collected a tithe from Abraham and blessed the one who possessed the promise.

but he whose genealogy is not counted from them has accepted tithes from Abraham, and has blessed him who has the promises.

It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.

and he blessed Abram, saying,“ Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!

And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham,‘ Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.’

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.

“ As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”

Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you.”

“ I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him,“ Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west.All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.”

I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”

This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him,

When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,saying,“ I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.”And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.

the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.

By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son,

The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say“ and to seeds,” meaning many people, but“ and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.
