爾等盍一思之、我先祖亞伯漢、且以其戰利珍品什一以貢焉、則麥基德之尊貴為何如乎？

Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!

Think how great Melchizedek was! Even our father Abraham gave him a tenth of what he had captured.

See how great this man was to whom Abraham the patriarch gave a tenth of the spoils!

Consider then how great this Melchizedek was. Even Abraham, the great patriarch of Israel, recognized this by giving him a tenth of what he had taken in battle.

經云、我命爾為萬民父焉、且上帝使死者生、變無為有亞伯拉罕篤信上帝、故在其前、得為吾眾之父、亞伯拉罕本絕望、因信而有望、得為萬民父、如上帝云、爾之後裔、將若星然、

應經所云、亞伯拉罕信上帝、遂得稱義、於是亞伯拉罕為上帝所愛、

亞伯拉罕受割禮之號、即未受割、信而稱義之印證、如是、則亞伯拉罕可為未受割、信而稱義者之父、亦為受割者之父、彼不徒遵割禮、乃行其父亞伯拉罕未受割時而信之跡也、蓋上帝許亞伯拉罕及其苗裔、可為嗣子以得土、非恃法、乃信而稱義、

今而後、不復名爾為亞伯蘭、乃以亞伯拉罕稱爾、因我命爾為萬民父焉。我將繁衍爾子孫、使爾為群民之祖、列王由爾而出、
