其權源不在規定自然嗣續之律法、而在乎永生之德能、不已彰彰明乎

但如今，你們認識了神——不過更要說，被神所認識——怎麼能再回到那無能、無用的原則裡去呢？你們願意再重新做它們的奴僕嗎？

我們也是這樣：我們還是小孩子的時候，在世界的原則下受奴役。

是那永生的。我曾經死過，可是看哪，我現在活著，直到永永遠遠，並且拿著死亡和陰間的鑰匙。

你們如果已經和基督一同死了，脫離了世界的原則，為什麼還像活在這世俗中一樣，拘守那些

他沒有父親，沒有母親，沒有族譜，沒有年歲的開始，也沒有生命的終結，與神的兒子相似，持久做祭司，直到永遠。

律法委任的大祭司都有軟弱，但在律法以後，誓言保證的話語所委任的兒子，卻永遠完全。

但由於耶穌永遠長存，就擁有永恆不變的祭司職份；故此，他也能徹底拯救那些藉著他來到神面前的人；因為他一直活著，為他們代求。

因為他被見證說：「你是照著麥基洗德的等級做祭司，直到永遠。」

既然律法帶有那將要來的美好事物的影子，它不是那些事物的本像，就絕不能藉著年年不斷地獻上同樣的祭物，使近前來的人得以完全。

這會幕是現今時代的一個象徵，在這裡所獻上的禮物和祭物，並不能使事奉者的良心得以完全，因為這些只是關於飲食和各種洗淨禮，是屬肉體的規定，一直實施到更新的時候為止。

抹去了在敵對我們的那些規條中反對我們的債務記錄，並且把它從中除掉，釘在十字架上。

可是耶穌藉著對他說話的那一位是有誓言保證的：「主起了誓，不會後悔：『你是祭司，直到永遠。』」
