For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

It is clear that our Lord came from the family line of Judah. Moses said nothing about priests who were from the tribe of Judah.

For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, and in connection with that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

What I mean is, our Lord came from the tribe of Judah, and Moses never mentioned priests coming from that tribe.

Now it is evident that our Lord came from Judah, and Moses said nothing about that tribe concerning priests.

Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram,Ram the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon,Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse,and Jesse the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,Solomon the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, Abijah the father of Asa,Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram, Jehoram the father of Uzziah,Uzziah the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, Ahaz the father of Hezekiah,Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amon, Amon the father of Josiah,and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.After the exile to Babylon: Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,Zerubbabel the father of Abihud, Abihud the father of Eliakim, Eliakim the father of Azor,Azor the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Akim, Akim the father of Elihud,Elihud the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.

“ I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment?

“ I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the people of Sheth.

But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ

( as it is written in the Law of the Lord,“ Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”),and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord:“ a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required,Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:“ Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace.For my eyes have seen your salvation,which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.

“ The days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.

The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez and Zerah( but Er and Onan had died in the land of Canaan). The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.
