“ Then bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel, to serve me as priests— Aaron and Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

Numbers 16:40
to be a reminder to the people of Israel, so that no outsider, who is not of the descendants of Aaron, should draw near to burn incense before the Lord, lest he become like Korah and his company— as the Lord said to him through Moses.

1 Chronicles 23 13
The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart to dedicate the most holy things, that he and his sons forever should make offerings before the Lord and minister to him and pronounce blessings in his name forever.

So the Lord said to Aaron,“ You and your sons and your father’s house with you shall bear iniquity connected with the sanctuary, and you and your sons with you shall bear iniquity connected with your priesthood.And with you bring your brothers also, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may join you and minister to you while you and your sons with you are before the tent of the testimony.They shall keep guard over you and over the whole tent, but shall not come near to the vessels of the sanctuary or to the altar lest they, and you, die.They shall join you and keep guard over the tent of meeting for all the service of the tent, and no outsider shall come near you.And you shall keep guard over the sanctuary and over the altar, that there may never again be wrath on the people of Israel.

And fire came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men offering the incense.

Numbers 16:46-48
And Moses said to Aaron,“ Take your censer, and put fire on it from off the altar and lay incense on it and carry it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, for wrath has gone out from the Lord; the plague has begun.”So Aaron took it as Moses said and ran into the midst of the assembly. And behold, the plague had already begun among the people. And he put on the incense and made atonement for the people.And he stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was stopped.

And the staff of Aaron was among their staffs.And Moses deposited the staffs before the Lord in the tent of the testimony.On the next day Moses went into the tent of the testimony, and behold, the staff of Aaron for the house of Levi had sprouted and put forth buds and produced blossoms, and it bore ripe almonds.Then Moses brought out all the staffs from before the Lord to all the people of Israel. And they looked, and each man took his staff.And the Lord said to Moses,“ Put back the staff of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept as a sign for the rebels, that you may make an end of their grumblings against me, lest they die.”Thus did Moses; as the Lord commanded him, so he did.
