既然這安息還留著要讓一些人進去，但那些以前聽過福音的人，因為不順從不得進去；

既有必进安息的人，那先前听见福音的，因为不信从，不得进去。

所以，既然这安息为了一些进入它的人被保留下来，可是由于那些原先得以听到福音的人，因着不信从而没有进去，

所以，既然這安息為了一些進入它的人被保留下來，可是由於那些原先得以聽到福音的人，因著不信從而沒有進去，

既有宜入之人、而先聞福音者、因不順故不入、

然安息終必有人享之、而先聞嘉音者不信故不得享、

如是、必別有得享安息者、但先聞福音者、因不信故、而不得享、

可見後來者必有得入者焉。彼先聞慈音者之不得入、徒以執迷不悟故耳。

Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience,

It is still true that some people will enjoy this rest. But those who had the good news announced to them earlier didn’t go in. That’s because they didn’t obey.

Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,

So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God.

Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news did not enter because of disobedience,

Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who previously had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,

Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some should enter thereinto, and they to whom the good tidings were before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,

因此我告訴你們，神的國要從你們那裡取去，賜給那結果子的外族人。

他又向誰起誓說，他們絕對不可以進入他的安息呢？不就是向那些不順從的人嗎？這樣看來，他們不能進入安息，是因為不信的緣故。

但是你們的孩子，就是你們所說他們必被擄掠的，我要把他們領進去，他們必得著你們厭棄的那地。

你們必留下自己的名，作我選民的咒語；主耶和華必殺死你們，必用另外的名去稱呼他自己的僕人。

保羅和巴拿巴卻放膽說：“神的道，先講給你們聽，是應該的。但因為你們棄絕這道，斷定自己不配得永生，所以我們現在就轉向外族人去了。因為主曾這樣吩咐我們說：‘我已立你作外族人的光，使你把救恩帶到地極去。’”

所以你們要到大路口，凡遇見的，都請來參加婚筵。’“那些僕人就走到街上，把所有遇見的，不論好人壞人，都招聚了來，婚筵上就坐滿了人。

因為有福音傳給我們，像傳給他們一樣，只是他們所聽見的道，對他們沒有益處，因為他們沒有用信心與所聽見的打成一片（“沒有用信心與所聽見的打成一片”，有古卷作“沒有用信心與聽從這道的人打成一片”）。

我要用瘟疫擊殺他們，除滅他們；我要使你成為大國，比他們還強。”

聖經既然預先看見神要使外族人因信稱義，就預先把好信息傳給亞伯拉罕：“萬國都必因你得福。”

所以你們應當知道，神這救恩，已經傳給外族人，他們也必聽從。”（有些抄本在此有第29節：“他說了這話，猶太人中間大起爭論，就走了。”）

僕人回來把這些事告訴他主人，家主就發怒，對僕人說：‘快到城裡大街小巷去，把貧窮的、殘廢的、瞎眼的、瘸腿的，都領到這裡來。’僕人說：‘主啊，你所吩咐的已經辦了，還有空位。’主人就對僕人說：‘你出去到路邊籬畔，勉強人進來，好把我的屋子坐滿。我告訴你們，先前請的那些人，一個也不得嘗我的筵席。’”

這樣看來，為了神的子民，必定另外有一個“安息日”的安息保留下來。
