For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.

The good news was announced to our people of long ago. It has also been preached to us. The message they heard didn’t have any value for them. That’s because they didn’t share the faith of those who obeyed.

For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.

為此，我們也不斷地感謝上帝，因為你們聽見我們所傳上帝的道的時候，你們領受了，不以為這是人的道，而以為這確實是上帝的道，而且在你們信主的人當中運行着。

但不是每一個人都聽從福音，因為以賽亞說：「主啊，我們所傳的有誰信呢？」可見，信道是從聽道來的，聽道是從基督的話來的。

沒有信，就不能討上帝的喜悅，因為到上帝面前來的人必須信有上帝，並且信他會賞賜尋求他的人。

因操練身體有些益處；但敬虔在各方面都有益，它有現今和未來的生命的應許。

因為我們的福音傳到你們那裏，不僅在言語，也在能力，也在聖靈和充足的確信。你們知道，我們在你們那裏，為你們的緣故是怎樣為人。

你們知道，我因為身體有疾病才有第一次傳福音給你們的機會。

弟兄們，你們要謹慎，免得你們中間有人存着邪惡不信的心，離棄了永生的上帝。

上帝既興起他的僕人，就先差他到你們這裏來，賜福給你們，使各人回轉，離開你們的邪惡。」

所以，你們要除去一切的污穢和累積的惡毒，要存溫柔的心領受所栽種的道，就是能救你們靈魂的道。

你若遵行律法，割禮固然於你有益；若違犯律法，你的割禮就算不得割禮。

既有這安息保留着讓一些人進入，那些先前聽見福音的人，因不信從而不得進去，

我若將所有的財產救濟窮人，又犧牲自己的身體讓人誇讚，卻沒有愛，仍然對我無益。

於是保羅和巴拿巴放膽說：「上帝的道本應先傳給你們；只因你們棄絕這道，斷定自己不配得永生，我們就轉向外邦人。

他向誰起誓，不容他們進入他的安息呢？豈不是向那些不信從的人嗎？這樣看來，他們不能進入安息是因為不信的緣故了。

他們得了啟示，知道他們所服事的不是自己，而是你們。那藉着從天上差來的聖靈傳福音給你們的人，現在將這些事傳給你們；這些事連天使也都切望察看呢！

使一切不信真理、倒喜愛不義的人都被定罪。主所愛的弟兄們哪，我們本該常為你們感謝上帝，因為他揀選你們為初熟的果子，使你們因信真道，又蒙聖靈感化成聖，得到拯救。

聖經既然預先看見上帝要使外邦人因信稱義，預先傳福音給亞伯拉罕，說：「萬國都必因你得福。」
