爾所遇之試、亦為人之常事、天主可信、不忍爾受試過爾力所能當、使爾受試之時、亦為爾開出路、致爾能當之、

有能保爾不躓蹶、使爾無瑕疵、歡然而立其榮位前者、

蓋我儕之大祭司、非不能體恤我懦弱、彼曾於凡事被試、與我儕無異、惟無罪、故我儕當毅然至施恩之寶座前、則可蒙矜恤、受恩寵、隨時得祐助焉、

是以凡賴耶穌而至天主前者、耶穌能全救之、蓋彼恆存、為之祈禱、○如此大祭司、原為我儕所需、聖潔、無玷無垢、遠乎罪人、升天無上、

時將至、舉世有患難、以試天下之人、爾既守我忍耐之道、我必護庇爾、免於彼時之試煉、

惟主知拯救虔敬之人、脫於苦難、而留不義之人、待審判之日受刑、

彼既多懦弱、必能體恤愚昧迷罔之人、

遂攜彼得及西比代二子同往、耶穌即憂戚悲痛、語之曰、我心甚憂、幾至死矣、爾曹居此、同我警醒、遂稍進、俯伏祈禱曰、父、若可得免、則使此杯離我、然非從我所欲、乃從爾所欲、

基督在世為人之時、原文作基督在肉體之時大聲號泣、祈禱籲懇能救其免死者、遂蒙應允、解其憂懼、遂蒙應允解其憂懼或作因有敬畏之心即蒙允聽雖為子、亦受苦難、而學順服、及成全、則為凡順服之者成為永救之原、

我父以之賜我、父大於萬有、無能奪之於我父之手、

彼必以其服萬物於己之大力、化我卑賤之身、得如其榮光之身、

當時耶穌被聖神引至曠野、見試於魔、禁食四十晝夜、後乃饑、試者就之曰、爾若天主之子、可令此石變餅、耶穌曰、經載云、人得生、不第恃餅、亦恃凡天主口所出之言、魔攜之至聖城、使立於殿頂、曰、爾若天主之子、可自投下、蓋經載云、主為爾命其使者、必以手扶爾、免爾足觸石、耶穌曰、經亦載云、毋試主爾之天主、魔復攜之至極高之山、以天下萬國及其榮示之、曰、爾若俯伏拜我、我以此一切賜爾、耶穌曰、撒但退、經載云、當拜主爾之天主、獨崇事焉、

我日偕爾在聖殿、爾不執我、今乃爾曹之時、晦冥當權矣、○

為此、我受如此之苦不以為恥、蓋知我所信者為何、且深信其能保守我所付託至於彼日、

既得默示甚多、恐我自高、故加刺於我身、即撒但之使擊我、免我自高、我為此三次求主、使此離我、主謂我曰、我賜爾之恩足矣、蓋我之能、益顯於人之弱、故我欣然、寧誇我之弱、使基督之能庇我、是以我為基督、以荏弱、凌辱、患難、窘逐、困苦為樂、蓋我弱時反強矣、
