我葆樂親筆祝爾平安。請恆念吾之縲絏願恩寵常與爾偕、心焉祝之。

兄弟、人如有誤犯過失者、爾中之有靈修者當以溫和之精神、勸其改過遷善；亦須慎自檢點、庶免本身亦陷於罪。尤宜彼此包荒、甘願代人受過。

我作客、而爾不予以接納、我裸、而爾不予以衣、有疾、在獄、而爾不予以探視也、」

總之、爾等皆宜一心一德、富有同情、篤於友愛、慈祥愷悌、謙卑自牧。

命巴總看守葆樂、令寬待之、並准其親友為之供應。

雖然、爾等與我共患難、而濟我之急、爾之所為誠善矣。且當予初傳福音、自馬其頓出發之際、未有其他教會與我合作、惟爾斐立比人已慨然與我通有無。即在德颯洛尼時、爾亦曾一再遣人供我之需。顧予所為汲汲者、不在爾之資助、而在為爾廣收慷慨之妙果耳。如今予已綽綽有餘；蓋爾托伊巴弗提所賜多珍、悉已謹領；此不惟使予裕如、即在天主臺前、亦猶一瓣心香、無瑕之牲、焉有不蒙悅納者乎。吾知天主亦必因基督耶穌、按其無窮之蘊藏、日新之光榮饜飫爾之心願也。

引葆樂西拉出曰：『先生、吾當如何、始可望救？』曰：『能信奉主耶穌、則爾舉家當蒙救恩。』乃以主道示之、及其家人。當夜獄吏為二人濯傷、即率家人受洗；且迎之於家、具餐以待、咸以奉信天主、神樂洋溢。天既曙、有司遣隸傳語、釋此二人。

奧乃西弗則屢次予我以寬慰、不以予之縲絏為恥、願主矜恤其闔家大小是祝。渠一抵羅馬即四處探聽我之所在、而惠然來訪、渠實有心人也。吾願其在大審判日、蒙主慈恩。曩在伊法所時、吾如何承其多方照拂固汝所素稔也。

是故吾以因主被囚之身、剴切勸爾修身砥行、無忝爾之聖召、

次日、抵西峒；儒流優遇葆樂許其訪友、以受照拂。
