For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.

For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.

Here we do not have a city that lasts. But we are looking for the city that is going to come.

For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

For we do not have an enduring city here; instead, we seek the one to come.

Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,

Therefore even from one man, and one who was as good as dead at that, there were born descendants who were just as the stars of heaven in number, and as the innumerable grains of sand along the seashore.All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen and welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.And indeed if they had been thinking of that country which they left, they would have had opportunity to return.But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.

But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Him, at peace,

But this I say, brothers, the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none;

So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,

By faith he lived as a stranger in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise;for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

Arise and go, For this is no place of rest Because of the uncleanness that brings on destruction, A painful destruction.

For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.For we know that if our earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made by hands, eternal in the heavens.For indeed, in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,since in fact after putting it on, we will not be found naked.For indeed, we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a pledge.Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—for we walk by faith, not by sight—but we are of good courage and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

Consequently, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.
