For we do not have an enduring city here; instead, we seek the one to come.

For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.

Here we do not have a city that lasts. But we are looking for the city that is going to come.

For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

but our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

So if you have been raised with the Messiah, seek what is above, where the Messiah is, seated at the right hand of God.Set your minds on what is above, not on what is on the earth.For you have died, and your life is hidden with the Messiah in God.

Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God( the heavenly Jerusalem), to myriads of angels in festive gathering,

Therefore from one man— in fact, from one as good as dead— came offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven and as innumerable as the grains of sand by the seashore.These all died in faith without having received the promises, but they saw them from a distance, greeted them, and confessed that they were foreigners and temporary residents on the earth.Now those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a homeland.If they were thinking about where they came from, they would have had an opportunity to return.But they now desire a better place— a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

But based on His promise, we wait for the new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell.Therefore, dear friends, while you wait for these things, make every effort to be found at peace with Him without spot or blemish.

And I say this, brothers: The time is limited, so from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none,

So then you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household,

By faith he stayed as a foreigner in the land of promise, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, coheirs of the same promise.For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

Get up and leave, for this is not your place of rest, because defilement brings destruction— a grievous destruction!

For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.For we know that if our temporary, earthly dwelling is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal dwelling in the heavens, not made with hands.Indeed, we groan in this body, desiring to put on our dwelling from heaven,since, when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.Indeed, we groan while we are in this tent, burdened as we are, because we do not want to be unclothed but clothed, so that mortality may be swallowed up by life.And the One who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.So, we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.For we walk by faith, not by sight,and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord.

Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people.

Now the end of all things is near; therefore, be serious and disciplined for prayer.
