為了接受管教，你們要忍受，因為神待你們好像待兒子一樣；哪有兒子不受父親管教的呢？

你们所忍受的，是神管教你们，待你们如同待儿子。焉有儿子不被父亲管教的呢？

爾既受責、上帝待爾若子、焉有子而父不責之者乎、

爾若受懲、則是天主待爾如子、焉有父而不懲其子者乎、

是知爾所遭受之一切苦痛、所以予爾以磨練也。天主以爾為子、故待爾如此。夫焉有子而不蒙嚴訓者乎？

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?

Put up with hard times. God uses them to train you. He is treating you as his children. What children are not trained by their parents?

It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father?

趁著還有指望的時候，要管教你的兒子；不可存心使他死亡。

杖責和管教能使人有智慧，放縱的孩子使母親蒙羞。

不用杖責打兒子的，是恨惡他；愛兒子的，必對他勤加管教。

因此你心裡要明白，耶和華你的神管教你，好像人管教他的兒子一樣。

管教你的兒子，他必使你得安息；也必使你的心得喜樂。

要管教孩童，不可姑息，你雖然用杖打他，他也不會死；你要用杖打他，就可以救他的靈魂免下陰間。

有人對神說：‘我忍受了管教，不再有敗壞的行為了，我所看不到的求你指教我，我若行了罪孽，必不再行’。

現在，我指著永活的耶和華─那位堅立了我，使我坐在我父親大衛的王位上，又照他所應許，為我建立家室的─起誓，今天亞多尼雅必被處死！”於是，所羅門王差派耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅去擊殺亞多尼雅，他就死了。

我曾告訴他：‘我必按著他所知道的罪孽永遠處罰他的家。這罪就是他的兒子自招咒詛，他也不責備他們。’

你們為甚麼輕視（“輕視”直譯是“踢”）我所吩咐要為我居所獻上的祭牲和禮物呢？（《馬索拉文本》本句意思不明確）你為甚麼尊重你的兒子過於尊重我，用我子民以色列所獻一切最好的禮物自肥呢？’

你的兩個兒子何弗尼和非尼哈所要遭遇的事，是給你的一個證據：他們二人必同日而死。

他的父親從來沒有責難他說：“你為甚麼這樣作呢？”他的容貌也很英俊，他是在押沙龍之後生的。

我要作他的父親，他要作我的兒子，他若是犯了罪，我要用人的刑杖、用世人的鞭子糾正他。

愚妄束縛孩童的心，管教的杖可以把愚妄遠遠驅除。

堅固門徒的心，勸他們恆守所信的道，又說：“我們進入神的國，必須經歷許多苦難。”
