You have come to the church of God’s people. God’s first and only Son is over all things. God’s people share in what belongs to his Son. Their names are written in heaven. You have come to God, who is the Judge of all people. You have come to the spirits of godly people who have been made perfect.

You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect.

Rise up, O judge of the earth; repay to the proud what they deserve!

And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end,so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering—since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you,and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels

And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church,

It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed from mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb,

before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell.I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.

giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

But now, if you will forgive their sin— but if not, please blot me out of your book that you have written.”

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.Only let us hold true to what we have attained.Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.

for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church?

a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around him?

but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the unloved, by giving him a double portion of all that he has, for he is the firstfruits of his strength. The right of the firstborn is his.

And I will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.

Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.

Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation.

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.

“ Gather to me my faithful ones, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!”The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge! Selah

Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; let them not be enrolled among the righteous.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church,

“ Consecrate to me all the firstborn. Whatever is the first to open the womb among the people of Israel, both of man and of beast, is mine.”

When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:“ Death is swallowed up in victory.”

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

With weeping they shall come, and with pleas for mercy I will lead them back, I will make them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble, for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
