因為我們短暫輕微的患難，是要為我們成就極大無比、永遠的榮耀。

至於從天上來的智慧，首先是純潔的，其次是和平的，溫柔的，謙遜的，滿有恩慈和善果，沒有偏袒，沒有虛偽。這是締造和平的人，用和平所培植出來的義果。

耶和華雖嚴厲地管教我，卻沒有把我置於死地。

趁著還有指望的時候，要管教你的兒子；不可存心使他死亡。

肉身的父親照著自己的意思管教我們，只有短暫的日子；唯有神管教我們，是為著我們的好處，使我們在他的聖潔上有分。

喜愛你律法的必有豐盛的平安，甚麼都不能絆倒他們。

因此，你們要喜樂。然而，你們現今在各種試煉中或許暫時會難過，

離棄正路的必受嚴厲的管教；恨惡責備的必致死亡。

公義的果效必是平安，公義的效驗必是平靜與安穩，直到永遠。

但聖靈的果子是仁愛、喜樂、平安、忍耐、恩慈、良善、信實、溫柔、節制；這樣的事，是沒有律法禁止的。

只有長大成人的，才能吃乾糧，他們的官能因為操練純熟，就能分辨是非了。

總要棄絕世俗以及老婦的無稽之談；要操練自己達到敬虔的地步。因為操練身體，益處還少；唯獨操練敬虔，凡事有益，享有今生和來世的應許。

我就用杖責罰他們的過犯，用鞭責罰他們的罪孽。

因為神的國不在於吃喝，而在於公義、和睦，以及聖靈裡的喜樂。

他們滿眼淫色，而且不住地犯罪。他們引誘心志不堅固的人。他們的心習慣了貪婪，是應當受咒詛的族類。
