By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.

他因着信，就离开埃及，不怕王怒；因为他恒心忍耐，如同看见那不能看见的主。

彼以信而去埃及、不畏王怒、蓋堅忍如見莫能見者、

摩西有信、則離埃及不惴王怒、其恆心如見無形之上帝、

彼有信、離伊及不畏王怒、彼有恆心、如見不可見者、

厥後又憑信德、不恤君王之震怒、而逃出埃及。蓋其心目中常有形而上之天主、故能百折不撓、磨而不磷也。

By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.

Because of his faith, Moses left Egypt. It wasn’t because he was afraid of the king’s anger. He didn’t let anything stop him. That’s because he saw the God who can’t be seen.

It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.

By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees him who is invisible.

By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he persevered, as though seeing Him who is unseen.

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.

These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

He answered,“ Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid, and thought,“ Surely the thing is known.”When Pharaoh heard of it, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and stayed in the land of Midian. And he sat down by a well.

To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord.They said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt?Is not this what we said to you in Egypt:‘ Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”And Moses said to the people,“ Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.

Then Pharaoh said to him,“ Get away from me; take care never to see my face again, for on the day you see my face you shall die.”Moses said,“ As you say! I will not see your face again.”

All the people of Israel did just as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron.

I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

And the Lord said to Moses in Midian,“ Go back to Egypt, for all the men who were seeking your life are dead.”

And the people of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children.A mixed multitude also went up with them, and very much livestock, both flocks and herds.And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough that they had brought out of Egypt, for it was not leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared any provisions for themselves.The time that the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years.At the end of 430 years, on that very day, all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.It was a night of watching by the Lord, to bring them out of the land of Egypt; so this same night is a night of watching kept to the Lord by all the people of Israel throughout their generations.

In this manner you shall eat it: with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.

But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings,

looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said,“ Lest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt.”But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the people of Israel went up out of the land of Egypt equipped for battle.Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for Joseph had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying,“ God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones with you from here.”And they moved on from Succoth and encamped at Etham, on the edge of the wilderness.And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night.

For David says concerning him,“‘ I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,

And all these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying,‘ Get out, you and all the people who follow you.’ And after that I will go out.” And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.

And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise.

as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

And they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away.

and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
