那时，摩西出生了，他长得俊美非凡。他的父母在家里偷偷地抚养了他三个月，

那女子怀孕，生了一个男婴。她看见孩子可爱，就把他藏了三个月。后来无法再藏下去，她就拿来一个蒲草篮子，外面涂上防水的沥青和柏油，然后把婴儿放在里面，又把篮子放在尼罗河边的芦苇丛中。婴儿的姐姐远远地站着，要看看她的弟弟究竟会怎样。这时，法老的女儿来到河边沐浴，宫女们在河边行走。公主发现了芦苇丛中的篮子，便吩咐一个婢女去把它取来。公主打开一看，原来是一个男婴。公主看见孩子在哭，就可怜他，说：“他是希伯来人的孩子。”婴儿的姐姐对公主说：“我去找一个希伯来妇女当奶妈，为你哺养他好吗？”公主回答说：“好！”那女孩就跑去把婴孩的母亲带来。公主对那妇女说：“你把孩子抱去，替我哺养他，我会给你工钱。”她便把孩子抱去哺养。孩子渐渐长大，她便把他带到公主那里，孩子就做了公主的儿子。公主给孩子取名叫摩西，意思是“我把他从水中拉了上来”。

“朋友们，我告诉你们，不要惧怕那些杀害人的身体后再也无计可施的人。我告诉你们应该惧怕谁，要惧怕上帝——祂有权终结人的生命，并把人丢在地狱里。是的，我告诉你们，要惧怕祂！

“如蛆如虫的雅各啊，以色列人啊，不要怕！我耶和华必帮助你。以色列的圣者是你的救赎主。

那些只能杀害身体，不能毁灭灵魂的人，不用怕他们。但要畏惧那位有权将身体和灵魂一同毁灭在地狱里的上帝。

有耶和华与我同在，我必不惧怕，人能把我怎么样？

这样，我们可以放胆地说：“主是我的帮助，我必不惧怕，人能把我怎么样？”

我是你的上帝，我必与你同在，你不用惊慌也不用害怕。我必赐你力量，帮助你，用我公义的右手扶持你。’

沙得拉、米煞、亚伯尼歌答道：“尼布甲尼撒啊，我们无需为此事回答你。王啊，我们若真被扔进烈焰熊熊的火窑，我们所事奉的上帝必能救我们脱离火窑，祂必从你手中救我们。即或不然，王啊，你要明白，我们也不会事奉你的神明或祭拜你立的金像。”

但以理知道王签署禁令后，就回到家里。他楼上的窗户朝向耶路撒冷，他像往常一样每日三次跪下向上帝祷告、感恩。

耶和华说：“安慰你们的是我，是我。你为什么要害怕难逃一死、生命如草芥的世人呢？

我赞美上帝的应许，我信靠祂，就不惧怕，区区世人能把我怎样？

认识公义、铭记我训诲的人啊，听我说。你们不要害怕人的辱骂，也不要畏惧他们的毁谤。

“他们认为是阴谋的，你们不要认为是阴谋。他们所怕的，你们不要怕，也不要畏惧。你们当尊万军之耶和华为圣，当敬畏祂，畏惧祂。
