歲一獻祭、惟使人憶其罪、

但此祭、使人每年記憶其罪耳、

然稽諸事實、則歲歲獻祭、年年懷罪。

But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins.

But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance;

And Aaron shall make atonement upon its horns once a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonement; once a year he shall make atonement upon it throughout your generations. It is most holy to the Lord.”

“ Aaron shall offer the bull as a sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.He shall take the two goats and present them before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.Then Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for the Lord and the other lot for the scapegoat.And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the LORD’s lot fell, and offer it as a sin offering.But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make atonement upon it, and to let it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness.“ And Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull as the sin offering which is for himself.

This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year.” And he did as the Lord commanded Moses.

For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

“ Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.

“ This shall be a statute forever for you: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether a native of your own country or a stranger who dwells among you.For on that day the priest shall make atonement for you, to cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.

Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, concerning all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a suitable man.The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

‘ On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall afflict your souls; you shall not do any work.You shall present a burnt offering to the Lord as a sweet aroma: one young bull, one ram, and seven lambs in their first year. Be sure they are without blemish.Their grain offering shall be of fine flour mixed with oil: three-tenths of an ephah for the bull, two-tenths for the one ram,and one-tenth for each of the seven lambs;also one kid of the goats as a sin offering, besides the sin offering for atonement, the regular burnt offering with its grain offering, and their drink offerings.

So she said to Elijah,“ What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to kill my son?”
