And let us not give up meeting together. Some are in the habit of doing this. Instead, let us encourage one another with words of hope. Let us do this even more as you see Christ’s return approaching.

The believers studied what the apostles taught. They shared their lives together. They ate and prayed together.

Where two or three people gather in my name, I am there with them.”

But build one another up every day. Do it as long as there is still time. Then none of you will become stubborn. You won’t be fooled by sin’s tricks.

So encourage one another with the hope you have. Build each other up. In fact, that’s what you are doing.

Let us consider how we can stir up one another to love. Let us help one another to do good works.

So when you come together, I will be with you in spirit. The power of our Lord Jesus will also be with you.

So encourage one another with these words of comfort.

On the first day of the week we met to break bread and eat together. Paul spoke to the people. He kept on talking until midnight because he planned to leave the next day.

When the day of Pentecost came, all the believers gathered in one place.

In the following matters, I don’t praise you. Your meetings do more harm than good.First, here is what people are telling me. When you come together as a church, you take sides. And in some ways I believe it.

Is it encouraging others? Then encourage them. Is it giving to others? Then give freely. Is it being a leader? Then work hard at it. Is it showing mercy? Then do it cheerfully.

When you do these things, keep in mind the times we are living in. The hour has already come for you to wake up from your sleep. The full effects of our salvation are closer now than when we first believed in Christ.The dark night of evil is nearly over. The day of Christ’s return is almost here. So let us get rid of the works of darkness that harm us. Let us do the works of light that protect us.Let us act as we should, like people living in the daytime. Have nothing to do with wild parties, and don’t get drunk. Don’t take part in sexual sins or evil conduct. Don’t fight with each other or be jealous of anyone.

On the evening of that first day of the week, the disciples were together. They had locked the doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Jesus came in and stood among them. He said,“ May peace be with you!”Then he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were very happy when they saw the Lord.Again Jesus said,“ May peace be with you! The Father has sent me. So now I am sending you.”He then breathed on them. He said,“ Receive the Holy Spirit.If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”Thomas was one of the 12 disciples. He was also called Didymus. He was not with the other disciples when Jesus came.So they told him,“ We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them,“ First I must see the nail marks in his hands. I must put my finger where the nails were. I must put my hand into his side. Only then will I believe.”A week later, Jesus’ disciples were in the house again. Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came in and stood among them. He said,“ May peace be with you!”Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here. See my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”Thomas said to him,“ My Lord and my God!”Then Jesus told him,“ Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen me but still have believed.”

When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Here is a list of those who were there. Peter, John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot and Judas son of JamesThey all came together regularly to pray. The women joined them too. So did Jesus’ mother Mary and his brothers.

But the person who prophesies speaks to people. That person prophesies to make people stronger, to give them hope, and to comfort them.

So when you come together, it is not the Lord’s Supper you eat.

Let everyone know how gentle you are. The Lord is coming soon.

You too must be patient. You must remain strong. The Lord will soon come back.

In the same way, when you see these things happening, you know that the end is near. It is right at the door.What I’m about to tell you is true. The people living now will certainly not pass away until all those things have happened.

But each person’s work will be shown for what it is. On judgment day it will be brought to light. It will be put through fire. The fire will test how good each person’s work is.

Dear friends, I know you are looking forward to this. So try your best to be found pure and without blame. Be at peace with God.

The Lord is not slow to keep his promise. He is not slow in the way some people understand it. Instead, he is patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed. Instead, he wants all people to turn away from their sins.

The end of all things is near. So be watchful and control yourselves. Then you may pray.

They are the people who separate you from one another. They do only what comes naturally. They are not led by the Holy Spirit.

In the same way, when you see all these things happening, you know that the end is near. It is right at the door.What I’m about to tell you is true. The people living now will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

So everything will be destroyed in this way. And what kind of people should you be? You should lead holy and godly lives.

One day we were going to the place of prayer. On the way we were met by a female slave. She had a spirit that helped her tell people what was going to happen. She earned a lot of money for her owners by doing this.

Suppose the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in other languages. And suppose visitors or unbelievers come in. Won’t they say you are out of your minds?
