But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture becomes a matter of someone’s own interpretation,for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

“ It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, Your old men will have dreams, Your young men will see visions.

He said,“ Now hear My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, will make Myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.It is not this way for My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My household;With him I speak mouth to mouth, That is, openly, and not using mysterious language, And he beholds the form of the Lord. So why were you not afraid To speak against My servant, against Moses?”

As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries,seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven— things into which angels long to look.

Then beginning with Moses and with all the Prophets, He explained to them the things written about Himself in all the Scriptures.

So because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,

Just as He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and his descendants forever.”

And I will make enemies Of you and the woman, And of your offspring and her Descendant; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where He is from.”

Now He said to them,“ These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things that are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

To show mercy to our fathers, And to remember His holy covenant,

For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every violation and act of disobedience received a just punishment,

Now the Lord said to Abram,“ Go from your country, And from your relatives And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you;And I will make you into a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing;And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

And we preach to you the good news of the promise made to the fathers,

When they had set a day for Paul, people came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening.

For this reason Moses has given you circumcision( not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and even on a Sabbath you circumcise a man.

And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said,“ Jacob, Jacob.” And he said,“ Here I am.”Then He said,“ I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also assuredly bring you up again; and Joseph will close your eyes.”

Then God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them,“ Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every animal of the earth and on every bird of the sky; on everything that crawls on the ground, and on all the fish of the sea. They are handed over to you.Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I have given everything to you, as I gave the green plant.But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.I certainly will require your lifeblood; from every animal I will require it. And from every person, from every man as his brother I will require the life of a person.Whoever sheds human blood, By man his blood shall be shed, For in the image of God He made mankind.As for you, be fruitful and multiply; Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.”Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying,“ Now behold, I Myself am establishing My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you;and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the livestock, and every animal of the earth with you; of all that comes out of the ark, every animal of the earth.I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall never again be eliminated by the waters of a flood, nor shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth.”God said,“ This is the sign of the covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations;I have set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall serve as a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth.It shall come about, when I make a cloud appear over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud,and I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.When the rainbow is in the cloud, then I will look at it, to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”And God said to Noah,“ This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

Then God spoke to Noah, saying,“ Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds and animals and every crawling thing that crawls on the earth, that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him.Every animal, every crawling thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by their families from the ark.

And the Lord appeared to him and said,“ Do not go down to Egypt; stay in the land of which I shall tell you.Live for a time in this land and I will be with you and bless you, for to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to your father Abraham.I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven, and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,because Abraham obeyed Me and fulfilled his duty to Me, and kept My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”

Then God said to Noah,“ The end of humanity has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of people; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with compartments, and cover it inside and out with pitch.This is how you shall make it: the length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.You shall make a window for the ark, and finish it to a cubit from the top; and put the door of the ark on the side; you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.Now behold, I Myself am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which there is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish.But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark— you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.Of the birds according to their kind, and of the animals according to their kind, of every crawling thing of the ground according to its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive.As for you, take for yourself some of every food that is edible, and gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and them.”So Noah did these things; according to everything that God had commanded him, so he did.

And he had a dream, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth with its top reaching to heaven; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.Then behold, the Lord was standing above it and said,“ I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your descendants.Your descendants will also be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, and to the north and to the south; and in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed.Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of his father in law Jethro, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.Then the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not being consumed.So Moses said,“ I must turn aside and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burning up!”When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said,“ Moses, Moses!” And he said,“ Here I am.”Then He said,“ Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”And He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.And the Lord said,“ I have certainly seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their outcry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings.So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.And now come, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.”But Moses said to God,“ Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?”And He said,“ Assuredly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain.”Then Moses said to God,“ Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them,‘ The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me,‘ What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?”And God said to Moses,“ I AM WHO I AM”; and He said,“ This is what you shall say to the sons of Israel:‘ I AM has sent me to you.’ ”God furthermore said to Moses,“ This is what you shall say to the sons of Israel:‘ The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is the name for all generations to use to call upon Me.Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them,‘ The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has appeared to me, saying,“ I am indeed concerned about you and what has been done to you in Egypt.So I said, I will bring you up out of the oppression of Egypt to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, to a land flowing with milk and honey.” ’Then they will pay attention to what you say; and you with the elders of Israel will come to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So now, please let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’But I know that the king of Egypt will not permit you to go, except under compulsion.So I will reach out with My hand and strike Egypt with all My miracles which I shall do in the midst of it; and after that he will let you go.I will grant this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty handed.But every woman shall ask her neighbor and the woman who lives in her house for articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; and you will put them on your sons and daughters. So you will plunder the Egyptians.”

Then Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak.When the man saw that he had not prevailed against him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was dislocated while he wrestled with him.Then he said,“ Let me go, for the dawn is breaking.” But he said,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”So he said to him,“ What is your name?” And he said,“ Jacob.”Then he said,“ Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have contended with God and with men, and have prevailed.”And Jacob asked him and said,“ Please tell me your name.” But he said,“ Why is it that you ask my name?” And he blessed him there.So Jacob named the place Peniel, for he said,“ I have seen God face to face, yet my life has been spared.”

Then the Lord said,“ My Spirit will not remain with man forever, because he is also flesh; nevertheless his days shall be 120 years.”
