‘ From this day on, from this twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, give careful thought to the day when the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid. Give careful thought:

It is the 24th day of the ninth month. From this day on, here is what you should think carefully about. Think about the day when the foundation of my temple was laid.

Consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Since the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid, consider:

“ Think about this eighteenth day of December, the day when the foundation of the Lord’s Temple was laid. Think carefully.

From this day on, think carefully; from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid; think carefully.

‘ Do consider from this day onward, from the twenty fourth day of the ninth month; from the day when the temple of the Lord was founded, consider:

‘ Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid— consider it:

Consider, I pray you, from this day and backward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, since the day that the foundation of Jehovah’s temple was laid, consider it.

‘ Think carefully about the past: from today, the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, to the day work on the temple of the LORD was resumed, think about it.

‘ Consider, please, from this day and backward, from the twenty- fourth day of the ninth month, since the day that the foundation of Yahweh’s temple was laid, consider it.

萬軍之永恆主這麼說：『當萬軍之永恆主的殿奠了根基、以便建造殿堂的日子，你們這些在當日聽見了神言人親口說出這些話的人哪，你們的手務要剛強！

現在你們要用心想想：從今日起必怎樣不同。在永恆主殿堂還沒有一塊石頭壘在石頭上以前，

因為必有平安興隆之撒種；葡萄樹必結果子，地必生出土產，天必降下雨露；我必使這餘剩的人民擁有這一切之福。

那時有神言人們、神言人哈該和易多的孫子撒迦利亞、奉以色列之上帝的名傳講神言、鼓勵在猶大和耶路撒冷的猶大人。於是撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約薩達的兒子耶書亞都起來，動手重建在耶路撒冷的上帝之殿；同他們在一起的有上帝的神言人在支持着他們。

只要他們有智慧，就會明白這事，就肯思想他們自己的結局了。

大利烏王第二年、九月二十四日、永恆主的話傳與神言人哈該說：

他回悟過來，就說：「我父親有多少雇工，食物充足有餘，我倒在這裏因饑餓而喪命啊？我要起來，去見我父親，對他說：『父親，我犯罪違逆了天，也犯罪在你面前；再也不配稱為你的兒子了；把我當做你的一個雇工吧。』」就起來，直向他父親那裏走。還離得遠的時候，他父親看見，就動了憐憫的心，跑去撲在他的脖子上，熱切地和他親嘴。

永恆主激動了撒拉鐵的兒子猶大省長所羅巴伯的心，和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞的心以及所有剩下的人民的心，他們就來，從事於重建萬軍之永恆主他們的上帝之殿的工作。那時正在六月二十四日。
