I struck you and all the products of your toil with blight and with mildew and with hail, yet you did not turn to me, declares the Lord.

耶和华说：‘我用旱风、霉烂和冰雹击打你们，和你们手里的一切工作，你们还是不归向我。

在你們手下的各樣工作上，我以旱風、霉爛、冰雹攻擊你們，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。

我曾用蟲災、黴災和冰雹毀滅你們的作物，你們仍沒有歸向我。這是耶和華說的。

耶和華說：‘我用旱風、霉爛和冰雹擊打你們，和你們手裡的一切工作，你們還是不歸向我。

那時我用旱風和霉爛擊打你們，又用冰雹擊打你們手下的各樣農作物，你們仍然不歸向我：永恆主發神諭說。

耶和華曰、我以暴風毒黴大雹、擊爾於爾手之工作、而爾猶不歸我、

耶和華曰、爾雖勤勞、我使風暴五穀、細弱特甚、雨雹以毀傷之、爾猶不歸誠於我、

主曰、我使爾勤勞所種者、為風所暴、細弱枯槁、或被雹毀傷、爾猶不歸誠於我、此乃主所言、

I struck all the work of your hands with blight, mildew and hail, yet you did not return to me,’ declares the Lord.

You worked very hard to produce all those things. But I struck them with rot, mold and hail. And you still did not return to me,’ announces the Lord.

I sent blight and mildew and hail to destroy everything you worked so hard to produce. Even so, you refused to return to me, says the Lord.

I struck you— all the work of your hands— with blight, mildew, and hail, but you didn’t turn to me— this is the LORD’s declaration.

I struck you and every work of your hands with scorching wind, mildew, and hail; yet you did not come back to Me,’ declares the Lord.

I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord.

I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the work of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith Jehovah.

I struck you— all the work of your hands— with blight, mildew, and hail, but you didn’t turn to Me”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye[ turned] not to me, saith the LORD.

I struck all the products of your labor with blight, disease, and hail, and yet you brought nothing to me,’ says the LORD.

I struck you with blight, mildew, and hail in all the work of your hands; yet you didn’t turn to me,’ says Yahweh.

The Lord will strike you with wasting disease and with fever, inflammation and fiery heat, and with drought and with blight and with mildew. They shall pursue you until you perish.

“ If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence or blight or mildew or locust or caterpillar, if their enemy besieges them in the land at their gates, whatever plague, whatever sickness there is,

You looked for much, and behold, it came to little. And when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? declares the Lord of hosts. Because of my house that lies in ruins, while each of you busies himself with his own house.

so two or three cities would wander to another city to drink water, and would not be satisfied; yet you did not return to me,” declares the Lord.“ I struck you with blight and mildew; your many gardens and your vineyards, your fig trees and your olive trees the locust devoured; yet you did not return to me,” declares the Lord.“ I sent among you a pestilence after the manner of Egypt; I killed your young men with the sword, and carried away your horses, and I made the stench of your camp go up into your nostrils; yet you did not return to me,” declares the Lord.“ I overthrew some of you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were as a brand plucked out of the burning; yet you did not return to me,” declares the Lord.

O Lord, do not your eyes look for truth? You have struck them down, but they felt no anguish; you have consumed them, but they refused to take correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to repent.

And I have called for a drought on the land and the hills, on the grain, the new wine, the oil, on what the ground brings forth, on man and beast, and on all their labors.”

Thus says the Lord:“ Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said,‘ We will not walk in it.’I set watchmen over you, saying,‘ Pay attention to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said,‘ We will not pay attention.’

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another,do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear.They made their hearts diamond-hard lest they should hear the law and the words that the Lord of hosts had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore great anger came from the Lord of hosts.“ As I called, and they would not hear, so they called, and I would not hear,” says the Lord of hosts,

And as one of them opened his sack to give his donkey fodder at the lodging place, he saw his money in the mouth of his sack.

The Lord has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm:“ I will not again give your grain to be food for your enemies, and foreigners shall not drink your wine for which you have labored;

In the time of his distress he became yet more faithless to the Lord— this same King Ahaz.

“ If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence or blight or mildew or locust or caterpillar, if their enemies besiege them in the land at their gates, whatever plague, whatever sickness there is,

I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.

“ The godless in heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them.

Behold, about this time tomorrow I will cause very heavy hail to fall, such as never has been in Egypt from the day it was founded until now.Now therefore send, get your livestock and all that you have in the field into safe shelter, for every man and beast that is in the field and is not brought home will die when the hail falls on them.”’”Then whoever feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh hurried his slaves and his livestock into the houses,but whoever did not pay attention to the word of the Lord left his slaves and his livestock in the field.Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man and beast and every plant of the field, in the land of Egypt.”Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.There was hail and fire flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very heavy hail, such as had never been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.The hail struck down everything that was in the field in all the land of Egypt, both man and beast. And the hail struck down every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field.Only in the land of Goshen, where the people of Israel were, was there no hail.Then Pharaoh sent and called Moses and Aaron and said to them,“ This time I have sinned; the Lord is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong.Plead with the Lord, for there has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.”Moses said to him,“ As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will stretch out my hands to the Lord. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know that the earth is the Lord’s.

Now Joseph was governor over the land. He was the one who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph’s brothers came and bowed themselves before him with their faces to the ground.

while their inhabitants, shorn of strength, are dismayed and confounded, and have become like plants of the field and like tender grass, like grass on the housetops, blighted before it is grown.

Behold, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong; like a storm of hail, a destroying tempest, like a storm of mighty, overflowing waters, he casts down to the earth with his hand.

“ I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in all your places, yet you did not return to me,” declares the Lord.

“ But from our youth the shameful thing has devoured all for which our fathers labored, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.

“ You shall say to them, Thus says the Lord: When men fall, do they not rise again? If one turns away, does he not return?Why then has this people turned away in perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; they refuse to return.I have paid attention and listened, but they have not spoken rightly; no man relents of his evil, saying,‘ What have I done?’ Everyone turns to his own course, like a horse plunging headlong into battle.Even the stork in the heavens knows her times, and the turtledove, swallow, and crane keep the time of their coming, but my people know not the rules of the Lord.

The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk,nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Strangers devour his strength, and he knows it not; gray hairs are sprinkled upon him, and he knows it not.The pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they do not return to the Lord their God, nor seek him, for all this.

“ The Lord was very angry with your fathers.Therefore say to them, Thus declares the Lord of hosts: Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.’ But they did not hear or pay attention to me, declares the Lord.

The people did not turn to him who struck them, nor inquire of the Lord of hosts.

He gave their crops to the destroying locust and the fruit of their labor to the locust.

They did not know that Joseph understood them, for there was an interpreter between them.

So he poured on him the heat of his anger and the might of battle; it set him on fire all around, but he did not understand; it burned him up, but he did not take it to heart.
