『萬軍之永恆主這麼說：你要向祭司問禮節的規矩說：

萬軍之耶和華云、問法律於祭司曰、

萬有之主耶和華曰、當問法於祭司曰、

萬有之主如是云、當問法於祭司、

“ This is what the Lord Almighty says:‘ Ask the priests what the law says:

The Lord who rules over all speaks. He says,“ Ask the priests what the law says.

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts: Ask the priests about the law:

“ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says. Ask the priests this question about the law:

“ This is what the LORD of Armies says: Ask the priests for a ruling.

“ The Lord of armies says this:‘ Now ask the priests for a ruling:

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts:‘ Now, ask the priests concerning the law, saying,

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,

“ This is what the Lord of Hosts says: Ask the priests for a ruling.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests[ concerning] the law, saying,

“ The LORD who rules over all says,‘ Ask the priests about the law.

“ Yahweh of Armies says: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,

“ For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth. (niv)

so that you can distinguish between the holy and the common, between the unclean and the clean,and so you can teach the Israelites all the decrees the Lord has given them through Moses.” (niv)

They are to teach my people the difference between the holy and the common and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean.“‘ In any dispute, the priests are to serve as judges and decide it according to my ordinances. They are to keep my laws and my decrees for all my appointed festivals, and they are to keep my Sabbaths holy. (niv)

He teaches your precepts to Jacob and your law to Israel. He offers incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar. (niv)

He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. (niv)

If cases come before your courts that are too difficult for you to judge— whether bloodshed, lawsuits or assaults— take them to the place the Lord your God will choose.Go to the Levitical priests and to the judge who is in office at that time. Inquire of them and they will give you the verdict.You must act according to the decisions they give you at the place the Lord will choose. Be careful to do everything they instruct you to do.Act according to whatever they teach you and the decisions they give you. Do not turn aside from what they tell you, to the right or to the left. (niv)
