You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.”

You have planted many seeds. But the crops you have gathered are small. So you eat. But you never have enough. You drink. But you are never full. You put on your clothes. But you are not warm. You earn your pay. But it will not buy everything you need.”

You have sown much, and harvested little. You eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes.

那時你們怎樣呢？有人到穀堆來，想得兩百公斤穀，卻只得一百公斤；有人到榨酒池去，想從酒槽得一百公升酒，卻只得四十公升。

你們要受嚴厲的咒詛，因你們全國的人都搶奪了屬我之物。”萬軍之耶和華說：“你們要把當納的十分之一，全部送入倉庫，使我家中有糧；藉此試驗我，看我是不是為你們敞開天窗，把福氣倒給你們，直到充足有餘呢。”萬軍之耶和華說：“我必為你們斥責那吞吃者，不容他毀壞你們地上的果實，也不讓你們田間的葡萄在未熟以先就掉下來。”

“你們期望豐收，反倒歉收；你們收到家裡的，我就吹去。”為甚麼呢？萬軍之耶和華說：“因為我的殿宇荒廢，你們各人卻為自己的房屋奔馳。

他們播種的是風，收成的是暴風。生出來的苗沒有麥穗，不能做成麵粉；即或做成麵粉，也必被別國的人吞吃。

“你帶到田間的種子雖然很多，但收進來的卻很少，因為蝗蟲把它吞吃了。你栽種修理葡萄園，必不得收葡萄，也不得喝葡萄酒，因為蟲子把它吃盡了。你全境必有橄欖樹，卻沒有油抹身，因為你的橄欖還未成熟就脫落了。

他們吃，卻吃不飽；行淫，人數卻不會增多；因為他們離棄了耶和華，不遵守他的命令。

田野荒廢，土地淒涼，因為五穀毀壞，新酒乾竭，油也缺乏。農夫啊！你們要為大麥和小麥羞愧。修理葡萄園的啊！你們要哀號，因為田間的莊稼都破壞了。葡萄樹枯乾，無花果樹衰殘；石榴樹、棕樹、蘋果樹，田野所有的樹木都枯乾，因此歡樂從人間消失了。祭司啊！你們要腰束麻布，並且痛哭。在祭壇侍候的啊！你們要哀號。事奉我的神的啊！你們披上麻布進去過夜吧，因為素祭和奠祭，都從你們的神的殿中止息了。

你要吃，卻吃不飽；因你的腹中常有疾病。你要懷孕，卻不能生下來；你生下來的，我都要交給刀劍。你要撒種，卻不得收割，你要榨橄欖油，卻不得油抹身；你要榨葡萄汁，卻不得酒喝。

萬軍之耶和華說：‘我要使這書卷出去，進入盜賊的家和指著我的名起假誓之人的家，這書卷必留在他的家中，要把他家裡的木料和石頭都毀滅（這是萬軍之耶和華說的）。’”

萬軍之耶和華說：“你們若不聽從，若不放在心上，不把榮耀歸給我的名，我就使咒詛臨到你們中間，我要咒詛你們應得的福分，並且已經咒詛了，因為你們沒有把這命令放在心上。

因為在那些日子以前，人作工是沒有工價的，牲畜也是這樣，並且因有敵人的緣故，人出入就沒有平安，我也使眾人互相攻擊。

她說：“我指著永活的耶和華你的神起誓，我沒有餅，缸裡只有一把麵粉，瓶裡只有一點油。你看我正在撿兩根柴，然後回去，為自己和兒子做餅，我們吃完了，就等死。”

大衛在位的日子，有連續三年的饑荒；大衛就尋求耶和華的面。耶和華說：“這是因為掃羅和掃羅家流人血的罪，因為他曾經殺死了基遍人。”

他在滿足有餘的時候，陷入困境，受過苦的人的手都臨到他身上。

但是，自從我們停止向天后燒香和澆奠祭以後，我們就樣樣都缺乏，又因刀劍和饑荒滅亡。”

我斷絕你們的糧食來源（“我斷絕你們的糧食來源”直譯是“我要折斷你們糧食的杖”）以後，十個女人要共用一個爐子給你們烤餅，她們配給定量的餅給你們；你們要吃，卻吃不飽。

他的家產必被掠去，在神忿怒的日子被沖走。

你們的氣力徒然用盡；你們的地不出產，境內的樹也不結果實。

十公頃葡萄園只出二十二公升酒；二百二十公升穀種只結二十二公升糧食。”

他又對我說：“人子啊，我要斷絕耶路撒冷的糧食。他們要滿心憂慮，吃配給的口糧；十分驚惶，喝配給的水。他們缺糧缺水，各人都必驚惶，因自己的罪孽衰弱而死。”

“雖然我使你們各城的人牙齒乾淨，各處都缺乏糧食；但你們仍不歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。“我曾在收割前三個月，不降雨給你們；我降雨給一個城，在另一個城卻不降雨；我在一塊地降雨，另一塊地沒有雨水就枯乾了。兩三個城的居民擠到一個城去找水喝，卻沒有足夠的水喝；但你們仍不歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。“我曾多次用熱風和霉爛擊打你們的園子和葡萄園，叫蝗蟲吃光你們的無花果樹和橄欖樹；但你們仍不歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。

他使肥沃的土地變為鹹田，都因住在那裡的居民的邪惡。

土地乾裂，因為地上沒有雨水；農夫失望，都蒙著自己的頭。
