爾使列邦之民、屬役良苦、竭力築城、萬有之主耶和華、必使之焚燬殆盡、歸於烏有、

众民所劳碌得来的被火焚烧，列国由劳乏而得的归于虚空，不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？

看哪，这不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？万民劳碌得来的被火焚烧，万族辛苦建造的，归于虚空。

看哪，这不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？万民劳碌得来的被火焚烧，万族辛苦建造的，归于虚空。

列邦的财富都化为灰烬，列国劳碌却是一场空。这不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？

众民劳碌得来的，被火焚烧；列国辛劳而得的，终归无有。这不都出于万军之耶和华吗？

眾民所勞碌得來的被火焚燒，列國由勞乏而得的歸於虛空，不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

看哪，這不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？萬民勞碌得來的被火焚燒，萬族辛苦建造的，歸於虛空。

看哪，這不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？萬民勞碌得來的被火焚燒，萬族辛苦建造的，歸於虛空。

列邦的財富都化為灰燼，列國勞碌卻是一場空。這不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

眾民勞碌得來的，被火焚燒；列國辛勞而得的，終歸無有。這不都出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

看哪，萬族之民只為了給火焚燒而勞碌，列國之民只為了虛空而疲乏，不都是出於萬軍之永恆主麼？

諸民勞力乃為火、列邦辛苦歸於虛、此非由於萬軍之耶和華乎、

眾民辛苦經營、悉為火所焚、萬族劬勞疲憊、俱屬徒然、皆萬有之主所命、

Has not the Lord Almighty determined that the people’s labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?

I am the Lord who rules over all. Human effort is no better than wood that feeds a fire. So the nations wear themselves out for nothing.

Behold, is it not from the Lord of hosts that peoples labor merely for fire, and nations weary themselves for nothing?

Has not the Lord of Heaven’s Armies promised that the wealth of nations will turn to ashes? They work so hard, but all in vain!

Is it not from the LORD of Armies that the peoples labor only to fuel the fire and countries exhaust themselves for nothing?

Is it not indeed from the Lord of armies That peoples labor merely for fire, And nations become weary for nothing?

Behold, is it not of the Lord of hosts That the peoples labor to feed the fire, And nations weary themselves in vain?

Behold, is it not of Jehovah of hosts that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

Is it not from the Lord of Hosts that the peoples labor only to fuel the fire and countries exhaust themselves for nothing?

Behold,[ is it] not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?

Be sure of this! The LORD who commands armies has decreed: The nations’ efforts will go up in smoke; their exhausting work will be for nothing.

Behold, isn’t it of Yahweh of Armies that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

萬有之主耶和華又曰、巴比倫城垣雖廣必毀、邑門雖高必焚、昔役列邦之民、竭力築此、後必盡燬、歸於烏有。

反是以為吾自有火、烟燄環繞、若然則以此照爾出入、可也、不知我必降以災、使彼長戚戚。

耶和華有旨必行、非詭謀所能撓。

譎者巧於計、反害及身、謀愈狡者、敗愈速、惡者晝遭晦冥、雖在日中、無異昏夜、遍捫不見。

曰、民弗異族、言弗殊音、今已有此作為、其後烏能底止。我儕臨格、淆其言語、使彼此不通。遂散之四方、於是罷築城之役。緣耶和華淆億兆之言語、散之四方、故名其邑曰巴別。

建築宮室、不蒙耶和華祐、俱為徒勞兮、謹守城垣、不賴耶和華助、亦為虛事兮、由是觀之、縱夙興夜寐、心緒紛紜、以謀餬口、亦係徒勞、上帝所愛者、必得安寢兮。

以東曰、予雖貧乏、傾圮之宅、必復建造、萬有之主耶和華曰、彼雖興版築、必為我所毀、人稱之為惡土、耶和華震怒斯民、恆久不已、

爾以金市者、不足以果腹、勞而得者、不足以饜心、是誠何故與。爾謹聽我言、可飫嘉肴、可食肥甘、而心悅懌。

義人所為、洲島之民、見之而懼、地極之眾、靡不驚駭、咸來和會、更相勸勉、造作偶像、曰、壯乃心、木工、金工、細工、粗工、無不相助為理、使金互相銜接、釘之以釘、不能搖撼。昔我眷顧亞伯拉罕、簡其後裔、以色列族雅各家、為我臣僕。

各人所為、無非捉影、諠譟徒勞兮、積累財貨、不知孰得兮。

或告大闢曰、亞希多弗從押沙龍、在叛黨之中。大闢曰、願耶和華以亞希多弗之謀、變為不智。

曰耶和華降災於巴比倫、使彼困乏、沉而不浮、有如此書、於是耶利米之言畢矣。
