上帝說：「不，你妻子撒拉必為你生一個兒子，你要給他取名叫以撒，我必向他和他的後代堅守我的約，直到永遠。

不論是在你家裡生的，還是你用錢買來的男子，都要接受割禮，這樣你們的肉體上就有我永恆之約的記號。

我盛怒之下暫時掩面不理你，但我要以永遠不變的慈愛憐憫你。這是你的救贖主耶和華說的。「這就像挪亞的時代，我怎樣起誓不讓挪亞時代的洪水再淹沒大地，我也照樣起誓不再向你發怒，也不再斥責你。大山可以挪開，小山可以遷移，但我的慈愛必不離開你，我平安的約也不會更改。這是憐憫你的耶和華說的。

我的家在上帝面前不正是如此嗎？上帝與我立下永遠的約，這約穩妥可靠。祂必拯救我，成全我的願望。

我要和你並你的子子孫孫立永恆的約，我要做你和你子孫的上帝。

願賜平安的上帝，就是那位憑著立永恆之約的血使群羊的大牧人——我主耶穌從死裡復活的上帝，

我要與他們立永遠的約，永遠恩待他們，使他們對我心存敬畏，不再背棄我。

「我要跟你們和你們的後代，以及所有和你們在一起、從方舟出來的飛禽走獸和牲畜等各種動物立約。我與你們立約，不再叫洪水淹沒一切生靈，也不再讓洪水毀滅大地。」

耶和華聞到這燔祭的馨香，心想：「雖然人從小就心存惡念，但我再不會因為人的緣故而咒詛大地，再不會毀滅一切生靈。只要大地尚存，播種收割、夏熱冬寒、白晝黑夜必永不停息。」

你們要到我這裡來，側耳聽我的話，就必得到生命。我要跟你們立永久的約，將應許給大衛的可靠恩福賜給你們。

你曾說：「我與我所揀選的人立了約，向我的僕人大衛起了誓，『我要使你的後裔永遠坐在寶座上，世代為王。』」（細拉）
