Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”

洪水氾濫在地上四十天。水越往上長，越把樓船漂起，使它離地上升。

隨有傾盆大雨降在地上、四十晝又四十夜。

永恆主說：『我要將我所創造的人類、都從地上擦滅：無論人類獸類或爬行動物，以及空中的飛鳥，都要擦滅，因為我後悔造了他們。』

我呢，你看罷，我要使洪流大水臨到地上，來毁滅天下凡有血肉的，就是有生氣的活物：凡在地上的都必溺死。

上帝就對挪亞說：『凡有血肉的，我決定要結束他們的生命了，因為全地都因了他們而滿有強暴；看吧，我要把他們、連全地、都毁滅。

他們未到死期就被攫去；他們的根基被沖瀉如河流：

『也是我在收割前還有三個月使雨停止不降在你們那裏；我降雨在一個城，不降雨在另一個城；這一塊地有雨，那一塊地無雨，就枯乾了。

挪亞又等了七天，又把鴿子放出去，鴿子就永不再回來了。

得勝的必這樣披着白衣；我決不從生命冊上擦掉他的名；我必在我父面前、和我父的眾使者面前、承認他的名。

願他們從生命冊上被塗抹，不得和義人一同被記錄。

而為風定輕重，按分量支配眾水。

他使密雲積滿着濕氣；雲彩布散其光；這電光隨着上帝的指揮游行旋轉，得以在大地之世界行上帝一切所吩咐的。

過了那七天，洪流的水就氾濫在地上了。

你同這個滿了七天吧，那個也就給你，來報答你要跟我再作七年長工。於是雅各這樣作：他同利亞滿了七天，拉班就將他的女兒拉結給雅各為妻。

如今，你若赦免他們的罪，就好啦；倘若不然，就求你從你所記的冊上把我塗抹掉吧。』永恆主對摩西說：『誰犯罪得罪了我，我就從我的冊上塗抹誰。

地上還沒有草木，田野的菜蔬還沒有長起來，因為永恆主上帝還沒有降雨在地上，也沒有人耕種土地；

永恆主說：『人類既是屬肉體的，我的靈就不永遠住在人類裏面：他在世的日子可以活到一百二十歲。』

因為他吸取了水點，這水點發了霧氣，就蒸餾為雨。雲天溜下雨水，雨水就滴落給億萬人。誰能明白雲彩之鋪開，和上帝雲幕中的雷聲呢？看哪，他將他的霧氣散布於四圍；又籠罩着羣山頂上。他用這些去飼養萬族之民，又賜豐富的糧食。他的手掌有電光遮掩着；他就吩咐閃電去擊中敵人。

凡有血肉、而在地上行動的，飛鳥、牲口、走獸、和在地上滋生的各樣昆蟲、以及所有的人、都溺死；凡在旱地上、鼻孔有氣息的生靈都死了；水把地上的眾生、從人類到獸類、到爬行動物、以及空中的飛鳥、都擦滅了；他們都從地上被擦滅。只有挪亞和那些同他在樓船裏的、得存活，

他又等了七天，再把鴿子從樓船放出去。
