他既不愛惜上古的世代，反而引進了洪水來滅不虔之人的世代，只保守着正義的報信者第八個人挪亞。

因着信、挪亞得了神諭關於還未看到的事，就動了虔敬的心而建備樓船、來救他的家，便藉着信而定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了依信而稱的義。

你六次遭難，他都必援救你；就是七次，禍患也不會觸害着你。

看吧，永恆主必將大地弄空，使它變為荒蕪；他必扭歪地的面貌，使它的居民四散。那時人民怎樣，祭司也必怎樣；僕人怎樣，主人也必怎樣；婢女怎樣，主母也必怎樣；買物的怎樣，賣物的也必怎樣；借給人的怎樣，向人借的也必怎樣；放債的怎樣，借債的也必怎樣。大地必被弄到空空，世界必被掠劫到掠劫淨盡：因為這話是永恆主說的。大地悲哀凋殘，世界衰敗凋殘，高天與大地一同衰敗。大地在它居民之下被沾污，因為他們越犯了律法，違背了律例，違犯了永遠的約。因此大地被咒詛所吞滅，上頭的居民擔受了罪罰；因此地上的居民被燒焦，剩下的人很少。新酒悲哀，葡萄樹衰殘，心中歡樂的盡都歎息。擊鼓之樂止息，歡躍之喧鬧停止，彈琴之樂止息。

既然如此，主當然也曉得怎樣援救敬虔的人脫離試煉，怎樣拘留不義的人、等候着審判的日子來受刑罰；

萬軍之永恆主說：『在我行動的日子、他們必屬於我做特別產業；我必顧惜他們，正如人顧惜自己的兒子、那服事自己的一樣。那時你們就必重新看出義人與惡人之間、事奉上帝的與不事奉上帝的之間、有甚麼分別了。

住在至高者的隱密處的、就是居於全能者的蔭庇下。

凡有血肉、而在地上行動的，飛鳥、牲口、走獸、和在地上滋生的各樣昆蟲、以及所有的人、都溺死；凡在旱地上、鼻孔有氣息的生靈都死了；

藉着水和上帝的話、當時的世界被水淹沒而滅亡了。

那麼即使有挪亞、但以理、約伯、這三人在那中間，他們也只能因自己的義而援救自己的性命：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。或者我若使惡獸經過那地而蹧踐它，使地荒涼，以致因這些獸人都不得經過；即使有這三人在那中間，主永恆主發神諭說，我指着永活的我來起誓，他們也必不能援救他們的兒女，只有他們自己能得救援，那地仍必荒涼。或者我使刀劍臨到那地，說：願刀劍經過那地，好使我將人和牲口都從那裏剪除掉；即使有這三人在那中間，主永恆主發神諭說；我指着永活的我來起誓，他們也必不能援救他們的兒女，只有他們自己能得救援。或者我打發瘟疫去流行那地，使我那叫人流血的烈怒傾倒在那上頭，好將人和牲口都從那裏剪除掉；即使有挪亞、但以理、約伯在那中間，主永恆主發神諭說，我指着永活的我來起誓，他們也必不能援救他們的兒女，乃只能因自己的義而援救自己的性命罷了。

當上帝震怒的日子、財富也無益；惟有仁義的賙濟能援救人免致早死。

這些人必往永世的刑罰裏去；那些義人呢、必往永世的生命裏去。」』

你要固執古舊的路徑、奸惡人所行的路麼？他們未到死期就被攫去；他們的根基被沖瀉如河流：他們對上帝說：「離開我們吧！」「全能者能把我們怎麼樣呢？」
