They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered.

The waters rose on the earth until all the high mountains under the entire sky were covered.

And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered.

Finally, the water covered even the highest mountains on the earth,

Then the water surged even higher on the earth, and all the high mountains under the whole sky were covered.

And the water prevailed more and more upon the earth, so that all the high mountains everywhere under the heavens were covered.

Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a vesture; The waters stood above the mountains.At thy rebuke they fled; At the voice of thy thunder they hasted away( The mountains rose, the valleys sank down) Unto the place which thou hadst founded for them.Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; That they turn not again to cover the earth.

by which means the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change, And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas;Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains tremble with the swelling thereof.[ Selah
