But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark— you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you.

But I will make my covenant with you. You will go into the ark. Your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives will enter it with you.

那天，挪亞與他的兒子閃、含和雅弗，還有挪亞的妻子和三個兒媳婦都進了方舟。

挪亞與妻子、兒子們和兒媳們都進了方舟，躲避洪水。

我要和你並你的子子孫孫立永恆的約，我要做你和你子孫的上帝。

「我要跟你們和你們的後代，以及所有和你們在一起、從方舟出來的飛禽走獸和牲畜等各種動物立約。我與你們立約，不再叫洪水淹沒一切生靈，也不再讓洪水毀滅大地。」上帝說：「我與你們及各種生靈立世代永存的約，我要給這個約一個記號。我把彩虹放在雲中，作為我跟大地立約的記號。我使雲彩覆蓋大地的時候，會有彩虹在雲中出現。這樣我會記得我與你們及一切生靈所立的約，水就不會再氾濫淹滅所有生靈。當我看見彩虹在雲中出現的時候，就會記得我與地上一切生靈立的永約。」

我的百姓啊，回到你們的房子裡，關上門躲藏一會兒，等耶和華的憤怒平息。

「我要與你立約，你必成為許多民族的始祖。

他們就是從前在挪亞造方舟、上帝耐心等候人們悔改的時代中那些不肯信的人。當時進入方舟，從洪水中得救的人很少，只有八個人。

撒拉必在明年這時候給你生以撒，我必向他堅守我的約。」

挪亞因為有信心，在上帝指示他未來要發生的事之後，就懷著敬畏的心建造方舟，來救全家的人。他藉著信心定了那個世代的罪，並承受了因信而來的義。

耶和華對挪亞說：「你和你一家都進入方舟，因為這個世代只有你在我眼中是義人。

上帝也沒有容忍遠古的世代，曾用洪水淹滅了世上不敬虔的惡人，只留下傳講上帝公義的挪亞和他的七位家人。
