Then he gave them these instructions:“ I am about to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite,

Then Jacob gave directions to his sons. He said,“ I’m about to join the members of my family who have already died. Bury me with them in the cave in the field of Ephron, the Hittite.

我欲與祖父同墓、必攜我骨出埃及、歸葬於先人之兆。曰、惟命是聽。

歸父骨至迦南、葬於麥比拉田之穴、與慢哩相對、昔亞伯拉罕購自赫人以弗崙之塚地。

爾必享遐齡、安然返本、而葬焉。

有冢子之會錄於天、有鞫眾之上帝、有義人得全其神、

壽高年邁、氣絕而終、以返其本、其子以掃雅各葬之。

藉所賦之恩得異賜、或預言、則依信而預言、或役事、則役事、或教誨、則教誨、或勸慰、則勸慰、其賙濟也、以丹心、其治理也、以殷勤、其矜恤也、以喜樂、愛無偽、惡惡、親仁、論悌弟則相友、論長長則相讓、論勤則勿怠、論志則宜銳、論主則當事、懷望以喜、遭難以忍、祈禱以恆、聖徒所需、供之、遠人之來、柔之、窘逐爾者、祝之、宜祝勿詛、樂與同樂、哭與同哭、意宜同、志勿高、惟謙是從、勿智是恃、勿以惡報惡、眾所善者、則務之、有可和眾、則盡力與之和、凡我良朋、毋伸己冤、寧待主怒、記有之、主曰、伸冤在我、我必報之、敵饑則飼之、渴則飲之、猶以爇炭集厥首、勿使惡勝善、宜以善勝惡、

容臣旋歸、死於故邑、葬於父母墓側、爾之臣僕金罕、可與王偕、任意以行可也。

壽高年邁、氣絕而終、乃返其本、其子以撒以實馬利葬之於麥比拉穴、與慢哩相對、即赫人鎖轄子以弗崙之田、昔亞伯拉罕所購者、其妻撒拉亦葬於此。○
