于是，那些米甸商人经过的时候，他们就把约瑟从井里拉上来，以二百二十克银子的价钱把他卖给了以实玛利人。这些商人把他带到埃及去了。

他们要安居在我赐给我仆人雅各的土地上，就是你们祖先居住的地方。他们世世代代都要居住在那里，我仆人大卫要永远做他们的王。我要与他们订立永存的平安之约，使他们安居，人丁兴旺。我的圣所要永远设立在他们当中。

大山可以挪开，小山可以迁移，但我的慈爱必不离开你，我平安的约也不会更改。这是怜悯你的耶和华说的。

祂派一个人率先前往，这人就是被卖为奴隶的约瑟。他被戴上脚镣，套上枷锁，直到后来他的预言应验，耶和华的话试炼了他。埃及王下令释放他，百姓的首领给他自由，派他执掌朝政，管理国中的一切，有权柄管束王的大臣，将智慧传授王的长老。

雅各就挨上前去亲了父亲。以撒闻到他衣服上的气味，就祝福他说：“我儿子的香气就像蒙耶和华赐福之田地的香气。愿上帝赐你天上的甘霖、肥沃的土地并丰富的五谷和新酒。愿万民都臣服于你，万国都向你下拜。愿你成为你弟兄的主人，愿你母亲的儿子向你下拜。咒诅你的，愿他受咒诅；祝福你的，愿他蒙祝福。”
