Yet his bow remained steady, and his strong arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, by the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

But his bow remained steady. His strong arms moved freely. The hand of the Mighty God of Jacob was with him. The Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, stood by him.

yet his bow remained unmoved; his arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob( from there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),

But his bow remained taut, and his arms were strengthened by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, by the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel.

Yet his bow remained steady, and his strong arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, by the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

But his bow remained firm, And his arms were agile, From the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob( From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),

But his bow remained in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong By the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob( From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),

But his bow abode in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong, By the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob( From thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),

But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty[ God] of Jacob;( from thence[ is] the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,

But his bow remained strong. The arms of his hands were made strong, by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob,( from there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),

Therefore the Lord God said:“ Look, I have laid a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will be unshakable.

and how he swore an oath to the Lord, making a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:

until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

My strength will be refreshed within me, and my bow will be renewed in my hand.

God— His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

Listen, Shepherd of Israel, who leads Joseph like a flock; You who sit enthroned on the cherubim, rise up

built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone.

The Rock— His work is perfect; all His ways are entirely just. A faithful God, without prejudice, He is righteous and true.

Therefore the Lord God of Hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, declares:“ Ah, I will gain satisfaction from My foes; I will take revenge against My enemies.

The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

For they were all trying to intimidate us, saying,“ They will become discouraged in the work, and it will never be finished.” But now, my God, strengthen me.

“ May the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the communitywho will go out before them and come back in before them, and who will bring them out and bring them in, so that the Lord’s community won’t be like sheep without a shepherd.”The Lord replied to Moses,“ Take Joshua son of Nun, a man who has the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him.

There I will sustain you, for there will be five more years of famine. Otherwise, you, your household, and everything you have will become destitute.”’

Coming to Him, a living stone— rejected by men but chosen and valuable to God—you yourselves, as living stones, are being built into a spiritual house for a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.For it is contained in Scripture: Look! I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and honored cornerstone, and the one who believes in Him will never be put to shame!So honor will come to you who believe, but for the unbelieving, The stone that the builders rejected— this One has become the cornerstone,and A stone to stumble over, and a rock to trip over. They stumble because they disobey the message; they were destined for this.

Then He continued,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

Therefore don’t be afraid. I will take care of you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

Those who are confused will gain understanding, and those who grumble will accept instruction.

Who are you to criticize another’s household slave? Before his own Lord he stands or falls. And he will stand. For the Lord is able to make him stand.

God— He clothes me with strength and makes my way perfect.He makes my feet like the feet of a deer and sets me securely on the heights.He trains my hands for war; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.You have given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand upholds me, and Your humility exalts me.

May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy

The wicked have drawn the sword and strung the bow to bring down the afflicted and needy and to slaughter those whose way is upright.Their swords will enter their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.

I will strengthen them in Yahweh, and they will march in His name— this is Yahweh’s declaration.

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.

Notice the stone I have set before Joshua; on that one stone are seven eyes. I will engrave an inscription on it”— this is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts—“ and I will take away the guilt of this land in a single day.

And Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all his father’s household with food for their dependents.

Joshua assembled all the tribes of Israel at Shechem and summoned Israel’s elders, leaders, judges, and officers, and they presented themselves before God.Joshua said to all the people,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ Long ago your ancestors, including Terah, the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.But I took your father Abraham from the region beyond the Euphrates River, led him throughout the land of Canaan, and multiplied his descendants. I gave him Isaac,and to Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. I gave the hill country of Seir to Esau as a possession, but Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt.“‘ Then I sent Moses and Aaron; I plagued Egypt by what I did there and afterward I brought you out.When I brought your fathers out of Egypt and you reached the Red Sea, the Egyptians pursued your fathers with chariots and horsemen as far as the sea.Your fathers cried out to the Lord, so He put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea over them, engulfing them. Your own eyes saw what I did to Egypt. After that, you lived in the wilderness a long time.“‘ Later, I brought you to the land of the Amorites who lived beyond the Jordan. They fought against you, but I handed them over to you. You possessed their land, and I annihilated them before you.Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, set out to fight against Israel. He sent for Balaam son of Beor to curse you,but I would not listen to Balaam. Instead, he repeatedly blessed you, and I delivered you from his hand.“‘ You then crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho. The people of Jericho— as well as the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites, and Jebusites— fought against you, but I handed them over to you.I sent the hornet ahead of you, and it drove out the two Amorite kings before you. It was not by your sword or bow.I gave you a land you did not labor for, and cities you did not build, though you live in them; you are eating from vineyards and olive groves you did not plant.’“ Therefore, fear the Lord and worship Him in sincerity and truth. Get rid of the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship Yahweh.But if it doesn’t please you to worship Yahweh, choose for yourselves today the one you will worship: the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my family, we will worship Yahweh.”The people replied,“ We will certainly not abandon the Lord to worship other gods!For the Lord our God brought us and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery, and performed these great signs before our eyes. He also protected us all along the way we went and among all the peoples whose lands we traveled through.The Lord drove out before us all the peoples, including the Amorites who lived in the land. We too will worship the Lord, because He is our God.”But Joshua told the people,“ You will not be able to worship Yahweh, because He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not remove your transgressions and sins.If you abandon the Lord and worship foreign gods, He will turn against you, harm you, and completely destroy you, after He has been good to you.”“ No!” the people answered Joshua.“ We will worship the Lord.”Joshua then told the people,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you yourselves have chosen to worship Yahweh.”“ We are witnesses,” they said.“ Then get rid of the foreign gods that are among you and offer your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”So the people said to Joshua,“ We will worship the Lord our God and obey Him.”On that day Joshua made a covenant for the people at Shechem and established a statute and ordinance for them.Joshua recorded these things in the book of the law of God; he also took a large stone and set it up there under the oak next to the sanctuary of the Lord.And Joshua said to all the people,“ You see this stone— it will be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words the Lord said to us, and it will be a witness against you, so that you will not deny your God.”Then Joshua sent the people away, each to his own inheritance.After these things, the Lord’s servant, Joshua son of Nun, died at the age of 110.They buried him in his allotted territory at Timnath-serah, in the hill country of Ephraim north of Mount Gaash.Israel worshiped Yahweh throughout Joshua’s lifetime and during the lifetimes of the elders who outlived Joshua and who had experienced all the works Yahweh had done for Israel.Joseph’s bones, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the parcel of land Jacob had purchased from the sons of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for 100 qesitahs. It was an inheritance for Joseph’s descendants.And Eleazar son of Aaron died, and they buried him at Gibeah, which had been given to his son Phinehas in the hill country of Ephraim.

God said to him: Your name is Jacob; you will no longer be named Jacob, but your name will be Israel. So He named him Israel.God also said to him: I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation, indeed an assembly of nations, will come from you, and kings will descend from you.

Jesus said to them,“ Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This came from the Lord and is wonderful in our eyes?

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the proclamation might be fully made through me and all the Gentiles might hear. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord.

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack.

This Jesus is the stone rejected by you builders, which has become the cornerstone.

God sent me ahead of you to establish you as a remnant within the land and to keep you alive by a great deliverance.

But He looked at them and said,“ Then what is the meaning of this Scripture: The stone that the builders rejected— this has become the cornerstone?

I love You, Lord, my strength.

And now don’t be worried or angry with yourselves for selling me here, because God sent me ahead of you to preserve life.

After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, who had served Moses:“ Moses My servant is dead. Now you and all the people prepare to cross over the Jordan to the land I am giving the Israelites.I have given you every place where the sole of your foot treads, just as I promised Moses.Your territory will be from the wilderness and Lebanon to the great Euphrates River— all the land of the Hittites— and west to the Mediterranean Sea.No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. I will be with you, just as I was with Moses. I will not leave you or forsake you.“ Be strong and courageous, for you will distribute the land I swore to their fathers to give them as an inheritance.Above all, be strong and very courageous to carefully observe the whole instruction My servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or the left, so that you will have success wherever you go.This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do.Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

I will sing about the Lord’s faithful love forever; I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations with my mouth.

Haven’t you read this Scripture: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

But You give us victory over our foes and let those who hate us be disgraced.

The Lord is the strength of His people; He is a stronghold of salvation for His anointed.

You will nurse on the milk of nations, and nurse at the breast of kings; you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior and Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites obeyed him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.
