The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his.

The right to rule will not leave Judah. The ruler’s scepter will not be taken from between his feet. It will be his until the king it belongs to will come. The nations will obey that king.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this[ is] his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

For[ it is] evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no[ more], until he come whose right it is; and I will give it[ him].

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.

For the LORD[ is] our judge, the LORD[ is] our lawgiver, the LORD[ is] our king; he will save us.

And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel,[ and] his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful,[ and] the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.

And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

Behold, I have given him[ for] a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.Behold, thou shalt call a nation[ that] thou knowest not, and nations[ that] knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

Know therefore and understand,[ that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince[ shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all[ men] unto me.

And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things[ done] in[ his] body, according to that he hath done, whether[ it be] good or bad.

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou[ art] my Son; this day have I begotten thee.Ask of me, and I shall give[ thee] the heathen[ for] thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth[ for] thy possession.Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward[ is] with him, and his work before him.

And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who[ is] this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam,( which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all[ things] secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.

And it shall come to pass in the last days,[ that] the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

But they cried out, Away with[ him], away with[ him], crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

The princes digged the well, the nobles of the people digged it, by[ the direction of] the lawgiver, with their staves. And from the wilderness[ they went] to Mattanah:

And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth[ his] sheep from the goats:

Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in[ their] arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon[ their] shoulders.And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with[ their] face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I[ am] the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at[ thy] side.Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts;[ It shall] yet[ come to pass], that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:And the inhabitants of one[ city] shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days[ it shall come to pass], that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard[ that] God[ is] with you.

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become[ the kingdoms] of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches,[ which] hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod[ to be] a sceptre to rule. This[ is] a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed[ is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
