As I was returning from Paddan, to my sorrow Rachel died in the land of Canaan while we were still on the way, a little distance from Ephrath. So I buried her there beside the road to Ephrath”( that is, Bethlehem).

雅各从巴旦．亚兰回来以后，神再次向他显现，赐福给他。

“在拉玛听见有声音，是痛哭、极大哀号的声音；拉结为她的儿女哀哭，不肯受安慰，因为他们都不在了。”

这个人名叫以利米勒，妻子名叫拿俄米，两个儿子叫玛伦和基连，都是犹大伯利恒的以法他人。他们到了摩押地，就在那里住下来了。

大卫是犹大伯利恒的以法他人耶西的儿子；耶西有八个儿子。在扫罗的日子，耶西已经年纪老迈了。

今天你离开我以后，在便雅悯境内的泄撒，靠近拉结坟墓的旁边，必遇见两个人。他们会对你说：‘你去寻找的那几头母驴已经找到了。现在你父亲放下了母驴的事，反而为你担忧，说：我为我的儿子要怎么办呢？’

伯利恒以法他啊！你在犹大诸城中虽然细小（“伯利恒……细小”有古卷作“以法他家啊，你在犹大诸族中虽然细小”），必有一位从你那里出来，为我作以色列的统治者；他的根源从太初，从亘古就有了。（本节在《马索拉文本》为5:1）

以撒娶利百加为妻的时候，正四十岁。利百加是巴旦．亚兰地、亚兰人彼土利的女儿，是亚兰人拉班的妹妹。

在以法莲山地的拉玛．琐非，有一个以法莲人名叫以利加拿，是耶罗罕的儿子、以利户的孙子、托户的曾孙、苏弗的玄孙。
