于是到了撒玛利亚的一座城，名叫叙加；这城靠近雅各给他儿子约瑟的那块地。

以色列人从埃及带出来的约瑟骸骨，葬在示剑的一块田里；这块田是雅各从前用一百块银子向示剑的父亲哈抹的子孙那里买来的；这块田就成了约瑟子孙的产业。

却要承认他不喜爱的妻子的儿子为长子，把所有的产业分两份给他，因为这儿子是他强壮有力的时候所生的头生子，长子的权利本是属于他的。

主耶和华这样说：“你们按着以色列十二支派分地为业，要照着这些地界：约瑟要得双份。

现在耶和华以色列的神，已经把亚摩利人从他的子民以色列人面前赶走了，你竟要占有这地吗？

到了第四代，他们必回到这里，因为亚摩利人的罪孽还没有满盈。”

夺去他们的羊群、牛群和驴，以及城里和田间所有的，

我不是在他们面前把亚摩利人消灭了吗？亚摩利人虽像香柏树高大，像橡树那样坚固；我却要灭绝它树上的果子，拔除树下的根。

犹大在自己的兄弟中是最强盛的，领袖也是从他而出，但是长子的名分却归约瑟）：

他支搭帐棚的那块地，是他用一百块银子向示剑的父亲哈抹的子孙买来的。

约瑟的子孙对约书亚说：“耶和华这样赐福我们，我们族大人多，你为什么只给我们抽一份签，分一份地作产业呢？”约书亚对他们说：“如果你们族大人多，又嫌以法莲山地过于窄小，就可以上森林区去，在比利洗人和利乏音人之地那里自己砍伐树木。”约瑟的子孙回答：“那山地容不下我们，并且住在谷地的所有迦南人，就是住在伯．善和属于伯．善的市镇的人，以及住在耶斯列谷的人，都有铁车。”约书亚对约瑟家，就是对以法莲人和玛拿西人说：“你们族大人多，势力强大，不可以只抽一份地业；山地也要归给你们，那里虽然是森林，你们可以砍伐，开辟的土地都归给你们，直到它最远的边界；迦南人虽然拥有铁车，势力强大，你们也能把他们赶出去。”
