Then Israel said to Joseph,“ Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you and bring you back to the land of your fathers.

Then Israel said to Joseph,“ I am about to die, but God will be with you and take you back to the land of your fathers.

Then Israel said to Joseph,“ I’m about to die. But God will be with all of you. He’ll take you back to the land of your fathers.

Then Israel said to Joseph,“ Behold, I am about to die, but God will be with you and will bring you again to the land of your fathers.

Then Jacob said to Joseph,“ Look, I am about to die, but God will be with you and will take you back to Canaan, the land of your ancestors.

And Joseph said to his brethren,“ I am dying; but God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”

I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph will put his hand on your eyes.”

Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.

Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”

Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Then Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem and called for the elders of Israel, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.And Joshua said to all the people,“ Thus says the Lord God of Israel:‘ Your fathers, including Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, dwelt on the other side of the River in old times; and they served other gods.Then I took your father Abraham from the other side of the River, led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his descendants and gave him Isaac.To Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. To Esau I gave the mountains of Seir to possess, but Jacob and his children went down to Egypt.Also I sent Moses and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to what I did among them. Afterward I brought you out.‘ Then I brought your fathers out of Egypt, and you came to the sea; and the Egyptians pursued your fathers with chariots and horsemen to the Red Sea.so they cried out to the Lord; and He put darkness between you and the Egyptians, brought the sea upon them, and covered them. And your eyes saw what I did in Egypt. Then you dwelt in the wilderness a long time.And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, who dwelt on the other side of the Jordan, and they fought with you. But I gave them into your hand, that you might possess their land, and I destroyed them from before you.Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose to make war against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you.But I would not listen to Balaam; therefore he continued to bless you. So I delivered you out of his hand.Then you went over the Jordan and came to Jericho. And the men of Jericho fought against you— also the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. But I delivered them into your hand.I sent the hornet before you which drove them out from before you, also the two kings of the Amorites, but not with your sword or with your bow.I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat of the vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.’“ Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”So the people answered and said:“ Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods;for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and among all the people through whom we passed.And the Lord drove out from before us all the people, including the Amorites who dwelt in the land. We also will serve the Lord, for He is our God.”But Joshua said to the people,“ You cannot serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done you good.”And the people said to Joshua,“ No, but we will serve the Lord!”So Joshua said to the people,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the Lord for yourselves, to serve Him.” And they said,“ We are witnesses!”“ Now therefore,” he said,“ put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord God of Israel.”And the people said to Joshua,“ The Lord our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey!”So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.Then Joshua wrote these words in the Book of the Law of God. And he took a large stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the Lord.And Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness to us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord which He spoke to us. It shall therefore be a witness to you, lest you deny your God.”So Joshua let the people depart, each to his own inheritance.Now it came to pass after these things that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being one hundred and ten years old.And they buried him within the border of his inheritance at Timnath Serah, which is in the mountains of Ephraim, on the north side of Mount Gaash.Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had known all the works of the Lord which He had done for Israel.The bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel had brought up out of Egypt, they buried at Shechem, in the plot of ground which Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for one hundred pieces of silver, and which had become an inheritance of the children of Joseph.And Eleazar the son of Aaron died. They buried him in a hill belonging to Phinehas his son, which was given to him in the mountains of Ephraim.

And the Lord said to Joshua,“ This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.

And the Lord, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

“ Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?Yet surely My words and My statutes, Which I commanded My servants the prophets, Did they not overtake your fathers?“ So they returned and said:‘ Just as the Lord of hosts determined to do to us, According to our ways and according to our deeds, So He has dealt with us.’”’”

“ For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption;

Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.

without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.

These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Suph, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea.Now it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel according to all that the Lord had given him as commandments to them,after he had killed Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who dwelt at Ashtaroth in Edrei.On this side of the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain this law, saying,“ The Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying:‘ You have dwelt long enough at this mountain.Turn and take your journey, and go to the mountains of the Amorites, to all the neighboring places in the plain, in the mountains and in the lowland, in the South and on the seacoast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the River Euphrates.See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your fathers— to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob— to give to them and their descendants after them.’“ And I spoke to you at that time, saying:‘ I alone am not able to bear you.The Lord your God has multiplied you, and here you are today, as the stars of heaven in multitude.May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!How can I alone bear your problems and your burdens and your complaints?Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.’And you answered me and said,‘ The thing which you have told us to do is good.’So I took the heads of your tribes, wise and knowledgeable men, and made them heads over you, leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, leaders of tens, and officers for your tribes.“ Then I commanded your judges at that time, saying,‘ Hear the cases between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother or the stranger who is with him.You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, bring to me, and I will hear it.’And I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.“ So we departed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw on the way to the mountains of the Amorites, as the Lord our God had commanded us. Then we came to Kadesh Barnea.And I said to you,‘ You have come to the mountains of the Amorites, which the Lord our God is giving us.Look, the Lord your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the Lord God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged.’“ And everyone of you came near to me and said,‘ Let us send men before us, and let them search out the land for us, and bring back word to us of the way by which we should go up, and of the cities into which we shall come.’“ The plan pleased me well; so I took twelve of your men, one man from each tribe.And they departed and went up into the mountains, and came to the Valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.They also took some of the fruit of the land in their hands and brought it down to us; and they brought back word to us, saying,‘ It is a good land which the Lord our God is giving us.’“ Nevertheless you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the Lord your God;and you complained in your tents, and said,‘ Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying,“ The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.”’“ Then I said to you,‘ Do not be terrified, or afraid of them.The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes,and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.’Yet, for all that, you did not believe the Lord your God,who went in the way before you to search out a place for you to pitch your tents, to show you the way you should go, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day.“ And the Lord heard the sound of your words, and was angry, and took an oath, saying,‘ surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see that good land of which I swore to give to your fathers,except Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him and his children I am giving the land on which he walked, because he wholly followed the Lord.’The Lord was also angry with me for your sakes, saying,‘ Even you shall not go in there.Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there. Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.‘ Moreover your little ones and your children, who you say will be victims, who today have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.But as for you, turn and take your journey into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.’“ Then you answered and said to me,‘ We have sinned against the Lord; we will go up and fight, just as the Lord our God commanded us.’ And when everyone of you had girded on his weapons of war, you were ready to go up into the mountain.“ And the Lord said to me,‘ Tell them,“ Do not go up nor fight, for I am not among you; lest you be defeated before your enemies.”’So I spoke to you; yet you would not listen, but rebelled against the command of the Lord, and presumptuously went up into the mountain.And the Amorites who dwelt in that mountain came out against you and chased you as bees do, and drove you back from Seir to Hormah.Then you returned and wept before the Lord, but the Lord would not listen to your voice nor give ear to you.“ So you remained in Kadesh many days, according to the days that you spent there.

“ I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man.And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn;that the Lord may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying,‘ If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,’ He said,‘ you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’

Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives.

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.

The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Now Jacob dwelt in the land where his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan.

And also the nation whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions.

“ Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed.

Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan.

knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me.

“ Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word;
